Could someone, or sometwenty, tell me the best way to send Brug cuttings per post.
My cousin in Scotland would like a couple of cuttings, but I don't know how long, thick, with/out leaves, etc.
Please help an old worried Scotsman, who doesn't know how to do this. The post normally takes up to 5 days from here.
Thank you in advance.

How do I send cuttings per post
Wintermoor, it isn't a hard thing to do. Just take your cuttings, below the Y for future tall brugs and above the Y for a shorter and bushy brug. Wrap the cut ends in wet toweling and then plastic wrap. Roll them in newspaper so they won't get beat up during travel. Pack securely. That is about it. I've even received cuttings with nothing on them and no padding that have survived. I like six inch of bigger cuttings and prefer that they have that harder surface on them, not totally green wood. Others can root the greenwood just fine. They should travel very well.
Thank you Brugie.
Parts of mine seem to break off at every heavy rainfall which we have at the moment ... and for the third time ... this evening again ... grrr ... and I only have green stalk ... will your travel method do the trick with them too?

Yep, just take off the leaves except the two newest tiny ones at the very top and wrap the cut end in a wet papertowel and proceed as above.
Thanks Susie ... will do ... :-X

Hi Wintermoor, my grandfather was from Scotland, Edinburgh. Donald Macdonald! We just had a Scot play the bagpipes at my Dad's funeral. It was so hauntingly beautiful yet so sad.
