found an undamaged brug blooming

Pink Favorite is a prolific bloomer. Need some hybridizing work on the thin flower structure but still a beauty.

Thanks Kell--I look at the mess and wonder where to start. Instead of doing anything--just looked at the flowers blooming. Smelled the roses, so to speak.

lovely blooms----hope you can have enough of your "base" garden blooming to keep your spirits up, and maybe now is a good time to try some of those "what if" projects you might have been toying with? Not much consolation on losing your babies tho:S sorry. cheryl

Barb, your pics are always so well structured.I hope most of the plants make a speedy recovery...:-)

kyle,
thanks, I think it took me 70 shots to get this one. My digital is an older expensive camera, which is limited by today's standards. I hate not being able to bracket, etc. Because of the black background, any whites become over exposed. I can't seem to find a way to prevent that from happening.

I have still not had time to get an inventory of the broken brugs. I think I may cut them back to ground level-at least any that are broken below the Y. Make cuttings early and let them start over. Many had been trained as standards. Their shapes will never be right.

so sad! how amazing the tree just fell right where it could do such damage! if it weren't already dead I would say kill it!!!

I have such flowers with longer tendrils. We should share pollen.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Ludger, are your flower walls thin. I love this huge flower but it has trouble holding it's shape and collapses except for very early morning.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Barb, I will give the pollen to you. Mine doesn´t.

I like to change true pollen with your brugs,:-)

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Ludger, Does your brug have a name or is it a seedling?

Barbara, I am so happy that you found this one blooming. It is lovely and I know it made you feel a little better. Remember if you need any help, let me know.

Barb, my brug is probaply a "Blin cross", it has no name because I got it from a marcet. Just brug pink. It looks very similar to your brug. But the flowers are "stronger" no other way to explain;:-)
I really would swap the pollen - have buds on mine.( in 2 weeks we could change)
