Thanks to all who welcomed me. My name is Mary and I got my name from my husbands sign friends. They call him Nitro and I am his gal. That's how I got the name. I am a nurse and enjoy working in my gardens whenever I can. I am at present having some trouble getting my water garden to clear up. I have several fish and 8 plants in there. The water is green in color and I change my filter at once daily. Got any more suggestions for me?? I would appreciate any help you can give me. This is a picture of one of my gardens.

Hi Mary, This must be an earlier picture, with the tree in flower. Great pond and you grass is so thick and green. The bird feeder on that pole, is that some kind of squirrel proofing on the pole? I have a big problem with them here.

Poorgeorge, The pole also doubles as a clothsline pole. We also put sheet metal around the pole at bottom so they can't climb up the pole. If they do get in there they have to jump from the cherry tree in bloom that you saw in my picture. The squirrels go in more if we put sunflower seed in it but they have not been going in there as much since we switched to safflower seeds only. We do feed birds year round and also have a thistle feeder hanging on the other side of the pole as you can see.

Hi everyone, I just joined yesterday and am completly hooked on this site. I am also a newby at this and don't have a clue as to how to post or if there are any rules to live by etc... I do know that I have enjoyed reading many of the forums. What fun! I live in NW corner of Montana, love to garden, quilt, cook, rubber stamp and scrapbook, just to mention a few things. Could someone give me a few tips on starting my own page? I have a digital camera, my computer, etc. but am a little short on know how:-)
I am so glad I found this place!

Hi Miss C,

Welcome also to our great garden site. I am not real knowledgable regarding the "own page", but if you go to the computer forum here, we have some wonderful people who will help and guide you through all most everything. We are a VERY friendly group and help everyone around here.

Welcome to the group Misscee. I two have not been at this web site for very long but I have found a lot of useful information from the other members.

Hi Mary, don't you know it! There is so much to look at that I can hardly wait to get on line and see what's going on in the garden. By the way, what kind of tree is that in the picture you posted? Wow.
When my husband and I moved into our current home several years ago, there wasn't one single flower or shrub anywhere! We now have a nice curvy flower bed that meanders along the back fence line, delphiniums and clemantis competing around the front deck and lots of potted plants around the new 3 tiered fountain we put in this year.
If I ever figure out how to get pictures from camera to here I will put some up.

Hi again MISSCEE

The tree is called a Northstar Cherry. We let the fruit go to feed the birds. The robins like them the most. We did have some cedar waxwings it the tree yesterday.
Has anyone else noticed there are not as many birds up here this year? We feed all year round so we get several different types of birds.
You can easily put your pictures on here by finding the file on your computer if you use a digital camera or you can scan your regular pictures into a digital format to put into your computer.
Ah, gardening is so much fun. Here is a picture of my pond I am working on.
