I have an extra lilac (supposed to be the old fashioned "lilac" color)that I would love to trade for a hardy fern to add to my shade garden. Anyone interested?
Here's a picture of the plant.
Lilac for Fern?
Hello Doris,
I may have a hardy wood fern (not sure of it's name--found it in the woods here)for your lilac. This fern is upright with big leaves when it is mature. I can send a pic of it tomorrow if you are interested. I love lilacs and would give your lilac a good home. Please let me know if you would be interested. Thank you. :)
Monica, Such a beautiful fern for such a baby lilac! You are so generous and I absolutely love the fern and the surprise! Thank you. Doris
Doris--I haven't been keeping up with the post on DG(been too busy keeping up with the grass instead that all our rains have encouraged to grow), so I am just now finding your post. I love your lilac--it was so pretty and healthy. It is doing great in the garden here. I do hope you will enjoy the fern as much as I do--it does it's best to make a statement in the garden once established. Let me know if it does well for you. I wish I knew what kind it was. I just found it in the woods and it has established itself well next to my pond. Thank you for sharing with me. Your lilac is a wonderful addition to my gardens and I know I will enjoy it much. :)
