This hen was brooding, her eggs were hatching. She had four hatched one in the process and more eggs. I went to check on her and this is what I found :~( It's not a poisonous snake. Dh said it's not a Black snake. Our neighbor said King snake but I didn't know we had those in WV. It's belly is kind of a rosy color. It measured 5'4" Any ideas anyone? I now have 5 chicks and the rest of the eggs under a heat lamp. I don't know if more will hatch or not. Needless to say the snake is now dead but so is my hen. Thanks, Lana
