Susie, help for tiny cutting :-)

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

Lene brought a tiny aurea cutting this evening. Its only six leaves "tall", but the green stem changes to bit brownish ½ inch from the root end. Now, I got to keep it living until the roots show and want to avoid fungus and leaf rot. What would you have done in such situation? *lol*

Tonny, be sure that your rooting pot is clean(I use a cut off soda bottle) and I would use vermiculite(perlite or sand will work too). Dip the cutting in a rooting hormone and stick in moist vermiculite and it should root just fine. I use the soda bottles because they are clear and you can see the new roots without tugging on the cutting.

Thanks a thousand, Susie :D

I had neither vercumlite or sand, but I took spaghnum and rinsed under running water and then boild it and boiled a glass and the lit as well. I filtered all the tiny spaghnum bits out to make a loose soil mass. I hope it will work *lol* It is this little fellow here :)
