Thymbra spicata 'Zatar

hey, first post in the herb forum...
I have a small nursery growing herbs, ferns, Pelargonium...
I think this year I have about 400 different herbs...
I'll end up posting pics of all of them, but to start here is an interesting middle eastern herb.
There are many 'zatars' in cooking, it is actually a mix of herbs...
my wife wrote an article recently about this, she says this plant is actually quite rare, and usually only wealthy people in it's native lands can afford it and many cheap immitations are sold as 'zatar.

Quite an interesting plant. It looks a little prickly. I've never heard of it!

not prickly... just an extreme closeup, those flowers are about 2-4mm long.
plant looks alot like savory

Is it medicinal? or use in cooking?
