I like both high tree like Brugs, but also the natural dwarf forms as they have a tendency to bloom early. Here is a real dwarf form. Its not a particular fast grower as its siblings are about three feet tall or more *lol*
Real Dwarf Brug (no flowers yet)
Sure looks compact Tonny. Why so yellow? Needs N?
I too wondered why so yellow? Too much water? We have had so much rain, mine are beginning to show some yellowing.
I have a seedling I x Butterfly, has a really compact center, keeping it separated from others of same seeds, as it looks so much different.
That one still hasn't grown much has it Tonny? It's gonna be a real teeny dwarf! A bonsi brug!
Such compact growth!!! It's interesting that it's holding on to it's older leaves....I can't wait to see it flower!
good things come to those who wait?---ummm? great things come in small packages? ummmm? anymore cliches? cant wait to see it bloom. cheryl
Flowers in 2009????? Ummm..........You ARE kidding, aren't you, Tonny?????? If I had to wait 6 years for flowers, I think I would toss it onto the compost heap, tho, being a dwarf, it wouldn't even make much compost! LOL
Anna, I don`t know exactly how much kidding I am *lol* In Datura its daylenght that initiate forming of the Y plus flower branches. No one knows for real which factors initiate Y`ing in Brugmansias, so until we do we have to stick to that "they bloom when they reach a certain height and we never know what this is, before we see it" *lol*lol* I am studying very careful if any climatically factors either promote or postpone flowering, but I will have to grow several cuttings in different controlled environments, before I know more ... and probably I will end up knowing only what we already know :) Close to nothing *lol* I have different 2002 seedlings Y`ing after 10-25 growth zone leaves. Some have to 30 leaves and are very hight now. The little one here also has a high number of leaves, but I don`t know if that will make it Y *lol* Mostly because it is so small and I have a hard time to imagine big flowers ... yeah *lol* Its maybe the first "hanging-basket Brug. Ten cm high with 35 cm long, pink trumpets *lol*
That would be some sight!
