doggie alpha-male question?

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

A funny thing about the litter was that Snui (mother) was the one that appointed, who of the males that was to be the alpha-male. Of course Terry was the highest alpha-male, but she appointed one to look after the litter as well. First she appointed one we called Mini-T. He would then keep all by himself, eat first and was wide awake while the rest of the litter slept and slept only with half an eye, when the rest was running about. After he was picked up we thought that there would breake out a riot in the litter for one to take this position, but no. Snui brought the brother of Mini-t out in the garden for about an hour and when they returned he was the new alpha. We tried desperately to watch what it was that Snui did to those two, but apparently they was just running around planlessly in the garden for about an hour or so and we noted no specific communications between them. We also taped them on video and played in slowmotion, but nothing gave any sense.

Here is a typical attitude in a grown up dog. Calm, relaxed, but wide awake.
