Lime zinger with one spot
Barb that looks good with your coleus. Do these come variegated or do you have a find here?
I don't know of a variegated one but my knowledge is limited on ee. Will keep a close watch on it this summer.
I have come to love coleus and use them everywhere. Have lots of shade and they are my flower colors in the shade.
The next time you come this way you will have to stop in- as they say in the south.

Barb, have you had any trouble with getting zingers to grow? Mine seem to rot easily when watered from above or rained on. I'm down to one left now and if it doesn't make it, I won't get another one. Yours looks great and so healthy. I like it with the coleus. Nice picture!!
Have no problem at all with Lime Zingers. This was the first year I left them in the ground during the winter and you can see what came back up. Also, they are in a very wet/soggy area. If you dig a shovel of dirt-water comes up in hole. May be your cooler climate. If you want some more to try, let me know.
This photo is last years.
Gee Barbara, it is ashame you can't get anything to grow on that hillside! wah ha ha ha It is gorgeous!
Shirley, the three lime zingers I got rotted too. I wasn't going to mention it. LOL Since you did... Not like I care, the rest are doing great! I posted my bananas on the co-op forum. Should have taken a shot from the side. They are doing great!
I've heard of others that lost their zingers. I thought they were very healthy plants too. You might be right Barb. Just too cool here for them, especially at night. Our date time temps are great. Running in the low eighties, but last night was about 54. I'll keep babying it and if it doesn't make it, I'll probably just use the Kingwood Gold Talinium to get the light green effect. It seems to grow anyplace. Thanks for the offer.
I am now really into coleus this year also. Last year I started late but this year I got a bunch in. I found a few different ones here in NJ and bought them for my Mom. Your yard looks so special Barb.
Barbara, your garden looks beautiful. My lime zingers are toast as well. BUT! my Mickey Mouse is showing great promise.
Liz, maybe one of mine will get big enough....
With all you great growers, it has to be the cool nights. Be gald to share with anyone of you who wants to try it again.
Nice of you to offer, but I think I will go with the 'sure things' that are growing. LOL You rock!
Ya gotta love that color!!
My Zingers (3) did real well. I am giving 2 of them to others or I would offer them here. I planted the one I am keeping in the ground and it isn't doing as well as the others that I still have in gallon pots.
I do have three small ones that I thought I was going to lose and still might and I think they are hi lo , not sure of name, I know it started with a H. They are spotted but they haven't grown like the others.
Georgia- I thinkk the name is Hi Lo Beauty
Thanks Barb
Barb,
I planted mine in the ground yesterday....hope the rabbits didn't get it last night....I hate to go out and look.
Gloria, they will winter over in ground--even in Hattiesburg.
I noticed mine yesterday and one leaf has two spots side by side. A dark green and then one that is a lighter green. Maybe I can get a picture when it quits raining. Of course that might be next year the way it is raining now.
Jim,
I hope y'all don't get the amount of rain we did...10 plus inches of rain here in less then 24 hours.
