C.C.

Is this its third year of growth or is it older? Clematis improves with age, just like fine wine!! :~)

Beautiful picture! Do you have any other Clematis combined with it? Just curious..........

I am trying to find a red clematis, either this Niobe or Cardinal Wyzinsky. Do you have a good source,CC?

Albany, MO(Zone 5a)

CC, it's beautiful. Does the color fade as the bloom matures? I have a ruby red, not Niobe, and the blooms fade to pale pink as they fade...

My Niobe fades to a lighter color with age.
Great picture Karyn. Beautiful color.

Thats all Niobe,it actually fell off the driftwood I have been training it on 'cause it got to heavy,Over on the other side(can't see them in the photo) I have a start of Snow Queen and Multi Blue, but I just planted them last year so they are not big at all.

I bought it at a local nursery ,and yes Shirley, its 3 years old.I had bought Niobe twice before and when they finally bloomed they were pinks.....so much for proper labeling. This time it had a small red bloom so I knew what I was getting....LOL

Yes ,it does fade as the blooms get older
