tiG! Here's the one you sent me!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I would love to know its name. Does anyone know? It's at my sister-in-law's house where she has more sun than me.

gosh hon, was it this last fall or the one before that? I sent out several hundred pounds of cuttings twice. it's beautiful, maybe a second day picture will tell. plus I'm baby waiting, can't think of much else:)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Oh boy....can't wait to hear when the baby gets here. Hope it isn't a long wait and that J. has a good and fast delivery.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Whose baby are you referring to?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

tiG is waiting on a grandchild to be born.

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

TiG, I'm so excited for you, getting a Grandchild. Is this your first? Our Great granddaughter is coming this monday. She is 2 yrs. old and going to stay with us for 2 weeks. Can't wait to hold her in my arms.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

it's our 5th in less than 4 years. This one will live with us for a while, and we're all on pins and needles waiting:)
so nice to talk to you yesterday. Hold them tight, 2 is the best age in the world to me.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

OK here are the same blooms again about 4 days older. They are deeper in color, with almost a slight orangy cast. Will this help identify it?

did I send it this past fall or the year before? I can't match up the calyx with anything I had this past fall. still thinking.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I think it was last fall, yes. I never had any bruggies before. What is the calyx? (I am brugie-challanged).

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

tiG, in thinking this over, I over-wintered after having them outside last summer. That means you shipped it to me the fall before, so they are 2 years old, not one. Does that help?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

it does, Carol is here for the weekend, will get back with some info later:)

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

great, thanks. I still need to know what the calyx is?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

the part the flower comes out of. I'm still thinking, will be back.

Solid Gold

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

I'm so excited to hear that it is Solid Gold, because you sent me one too. Thank you again,TiG. Can't wait for it to bloom. I started using Peters 20-20-20 often

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

good! I almost went back to MG, but the Peters has those micro-nutrients, and with the amount of blooms/buds I have on everything, I'm convinced. I have buds on a Pink Beauty x Rosamond cross, and one of the Pink Beauty x L'amour. tiny still, but I'm way ahead of where I was last year. I really do think it's the Peter's and the frequent feeding.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Ah success at last!! Now if the one I have at home would just bloom, I would have all 3 named. Thanks, tiG, more than I could possibly express here.....

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

ah, you're more than welcome. I told y'all then that they were named but we'd have to find out when they bloomed:) gee, that was a very long time ago.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

I really like Solid Gold, it really is a beautiful color.

Thanks on the tip about Peter's. And you are right; you said you would identify those you sent out and it's a done deal. If this one at home ever blooms, then the identification process will be complete........Betty

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

boy, that's been a long time ago:) lol!!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

tig, did you find peters at the seed & feed? i paid 21-22.00 last year for 25 pounds.
Delisa dug up my solid gold and took it home with her. i just couldn't see that much difference in that and dr suess, too many plants to feed. great looking pics, i wonder if my solid gold was a dr suess, lol....

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

arlene, I need to call them. that's a great price.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I finally drove all the way over to the next town and went to a Lowe's and got some Peter's. I have high hopes.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Good luck. It is a good fertilizer. Did they have the Excel? I doubt it, but just had to ask.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

No, I looked for Excel. This Lowe's has never sold a brugmansia and they asked me lots of questions about them. What is the typical price to buy them at a place like Lowe's or a nursery?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Tell them a $1.99.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

ROFLMBO! You brugmaniacs will say anything, do anything, for one more plant!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

They should be able to figure that out once they find a supplier. I've never seen them for sale other than through nursery catalogs. Of course, we live in a farming community and have none of these stores unless we go to the capitol city of Iowa. They could be there, but I have my doubts.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

There is a nice little nursery near me and they have excellent quality plants. The beautiful and precious young woman who works so hard there did not know what an Angel Trumpet was!! But there is a home behind the courthouse with beautiful gardens and she drove by last Thursday and saw them and wondered what they were. Because she is such a special person, I am going to give her some cuttings to get her started on Bruggies. That's why I would love to know what they would normally sell for at garden centers.....

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

They were selling unnamed brugs in 6" pots at my local garden center this spring (some even had buds!) for $6.99, of course it a day when I was totally broke, and when I went back they were all gone..sheesh!!!!!. I'm still trying to understand why I was there when I had no dollars to spend, am I nuts??

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

It's a form of window-shopping.......

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

Yeah, that's it!!!
