Small Brugmeeting in Denmark

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

We had a small meeting here as well. Uwe called me a few weeks ago that he and Beate was taking the hollidays in Denmark and today we had visit *lol* Our Brug and Datura friendship goes back a couple of years and it was pleasure finally to meet both him and Beate.

They had already learned a little Danish before arriving *lol* Uwe said:"Nye kartofler" which is new potatoes, a delicatesse here at this time at the year *lol* We had lots of fun speaking a mixture of both English and German *lol* While Uwe and I walked down in the garden on the look for cuttings, Beate and Lene had fun comparing flower and vegetables names in Danish and German and found out than many was like They are really wonderful people

They also brought us a bounded copy of Hammers work in German about the Genus Datura and to my surprise it was a copy dedicated to Uwe signed by Hammer himself. Its on my bed table *lol* I have ordered Tommie E. Lockwoods thesis "Revision of Brugmansia" and will mail it as a present to Uwe as soon it arrive :)

Later this Grete (that send the Golden Queen aurea) and her DH will come to lunch. She is looking forward to see the Brug garden in full bloom.

The pictures has to wait a bit as they are still in Uwes camera *lol*

Yes, that was. I am eagerly learning more about the Daturas and also about GA-3 treatment and stuff *lol* Its a good monography.

Susie, I laughed much when Beate told that when Uwe come home from work he sometimes sees if the Brugs needs water, before he come in and say hello. That is real Brug addiction. Well, that was a relief to hear that I am not the only one attacked by the passion that badly. btw. Calla, when we went looking for cuttings I found this seedling. It has no label, because I took it for dead this winter and threw out, but it came back. I wonder if it is one of yours? It has no blooms yet, but the leaves are very charateristic. It resembles one of the JO-(number) crosses from last year ...

Here`s another one from the top. I simply love those narrow, serrated leaves :)
