Maybe they know it is their last time to show their stuff in Tennessee. So pretty!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

I almost like it better when they are just singles, they do get really huge.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

This one has another skirt, it's a little shorter than the outside one. They smell good too.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Kell has it backwards, they know that they're moving to Texas, so they're practicing to be BIG! This one is STILL on the top of my wish list! Beautiful!!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Susie, It is beautiful. I can see how big it is compared to your hand. I am so happy that you are having so many blooms that you get to see before your move.

Cala, do you live near one of those nuclear plants in TN. LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Barbara, not too close, but the Oak Ridge plants(K-25, Y-12, X-10) are about 10 miles down the valley, lol. Think that's what's doing it?

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Cala, you had better take some of that glowing water with you to TX.
What are you feeding them? By the way, I tried that liquid lime on my herrenhauser garten that is dropping buds. Let you know if it helps. I am not a chemist like you. It was not a scientific trial--just mixed some up and threw it on there. Maybe I need some bug poop. LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I'll never live that bug poo story down will I? lol
I've sent pieces of HG to various people all over the country, surely someone will figure out how to make it keep it's buds till they open!
I use Osmocote Plus(no set amount, I just get a handfull and dig a little hole in the soil and toss it in every spring) I also use Masterblend 20-10-20 and Shultz Bloom Booster(forgot those numbers).
I have a friend here that I give seedlings to(he loves Frosty Pink and it's lookalikes). He uses 500ppm nitrogen every other watering. He uses straight 20-20-20. His leaves are lush and green, his stalks are huge and his flowers are plentyful and quite large. I sent an HG home with him to see what he could do with it.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

In other words, you pour any and everything on them. LOL! Because of the lush growth in MS-must be the bug poop-I have always be leary of using too much nitrogen on my plants. May try a 20-20-20. As it is, if planted in the ground, they will get 8-10ft.

We should all try using something different on HG to see if anything works keeping the buds on the plant...any ideas????

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Gloria, do you think it is the heat? Might bring one in on sun room, which is air conditioned. It might be like the Sang.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well if it likes sang weather Barb I should succeed! I will let you know. My friend here uses the cheapest bagged fertilizer from HD, I believe it is 20-20-20 and her brug is huge with too many flowers to count and in constant bloom. Now it could be the type of brug but I am now doing mine with the same stuff..or I will be...........

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

I've got few blooms, but really nice plants. I've used Shultz Super Bloom, 20-50-20, almost pure Nitro 33-3-3,
Epson salts, Hydrogen peroxide, Osmocote 17-17-17 4 & 9 month slow release, Miracle grow, and anything else to try and get mine to bloom. I think I will let them almost die, like I do with tropical hibiscus to get them to bloom, next.

Larry,
Did you get HG to bloom?????

Liz knows that lady in Fl that had HG bloom...I wonder if she did anything special to get her's to bloom. Liz would you ask her...Please!!!!

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8a)

I do not have a bud on HG yet, soon I hope.
Yes, Liz, let us know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Larry
