Mount Hermon, LA(Zone 8b)

All of a sudden, I've fallen in love with roses and hibiscus.

Here's a new one I just purchased, named 'Blue River II.'

Very pretty, and those flowers will reach 12" or more!

TWELVE-INCH-ACROSS-FLOWERS?!?!?!

I don't know if I want something THAT big growing in my garden! LOL. Might attack me when my back is turned. I keep thinking of another thread on here where "The Day Of The Triffids" was mentioned.....just kidding.

PARDANCANDA - Have you grown these? Any tips? -- Jean

Hi Jean,

Yes, I've grown them, and they are easy. Full sun, and they will wilt if they get too dry, like during a drought. No problem at all, watering will bring them back. Sometimes staking is a good idea, depending on how windy it gets. Seeds can be saved, and although may not come true, will give beautiful blooming size plants in just one year.

Enjoy,
