Tracey it is gorgeous and I just can't imagine growing from seed to this in 4 months. I hope you can cross this and capture that gene. Wouldn't be great to have more brugs that bloomed that quickly.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

umm cough cough--Tlynn if you have any more of those magic beans,??????? wow I wish I could coax my seedlings to perform like that!!!!! its steriods right? lolol congrats

Tracey,
it definately has Dr suess genes in it.Dr Suess tends to carry over its colors very well..few whites come out of its seedlings. Nice shape and foliage. Now keep an eye on its ability to deal with heat and wind and insects. :-)

Eclipse makes a very good point, but I'd have to admit that one that blooms this early makes a good candidate for an early blooming program. If you could get a line of Brugs that blooms in 4 months or less from seed then some of those other desireable traits can be worked for later.

Tracey,
Was this from a seed you planted or a cutting of a seedling?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Tracey, it's gorgeous!!!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

It was a seed, I started a bunch back in Feb. Parents are Whiskers x Eventide. I have three more from this one getting ready to bloom. A Eventide seedling (podbearer) will bloom soon, and Rosamond x Butterfly.

Now that's what I call a beautiful hybrid...look how broad the corrola tube is where it comes out of the calyx and the distiction between the yellow and orange inside...and all in just four months! Congrats guys!

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

oh,It is so georgous good work!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey guys, I think we need to get the early blooming gene from Tracey not the plant! LOL

WOW Tracey, so very pretty! WOW Cala, you did great!!

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Wow Tracey its beautiful!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Looks very pretty. I think you have to determine keepers after you see all the seeds of that group bloom and check out the factors that Kyle mentions. I would keep one of the early bloomers myself to use to try to get more seedlings that will bloom quickly as Eric mentioned. In any case, I'm impressed with the quick bloom time. This would be good in IOWA.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I'd keep that on for sure!!!!what a color,love it,congrats!

Hey Trace,
How about if I send you my seeds and when they bloom send them back to me. LOL I know I being a SA again. Come to think of I also had a few Whiskers seedlings bloom very early too about 4-5 month old. I now remwmber you asking me about that a few weeks ago....chemo brain again. LOL

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Well Gloria, I have no excuse for my brain! Hope you are doing well.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Tracey you have a beauty there and more to come it sounds like. I have no excuse for my brain either. I had been trying to blame it on teenagers. Now I've switched to genetics, lol.....

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Wow Tracey that is really pretty!!! Four months you say?? Maybe there is hope for me after all! LOL I have a bunch of Whisker seedlings that I wintered over so that makes them like 7 months old?? I hope they turn out as nice as yours.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Tracy, your beautiful seedling gives me hope. i didn't even know what the seeds looked like until some of you great DG members sent me some seed. i planted the first ones today, after soaking them a couple of days. Actually I don't know if I was supposed to do that but they looked so very dry. You got bloom in 4 months, that sounds very fast to me. So I know if I get any blooms it will be in the greenhouse in the winter, if that is possible. Donna
