It's a cute little bloom!
Citronella
Oh . . to see your yard / GH right now. It has got to be a site to see!
Cala:
The flower is sooo beautiful! This is another that I'll add to my must have list.
Calalily, are these brugs that you have planted in the ground? If so, will you be able to dig them up and take them to Texas? You have posted several gorgeous pictures recently. I cannot imagine you leaving these beauties behind.
Nathalyn, these are in pots sunk in the ground. I'll just take the pot out of the ground, trim the tops of the brugs and stick them on the truck!
I should have known that you'd be ready to take these with you. I was agonizing from afar that someone who couldn't take care of them would buy your place. I was ready to organize a Brug Rescue Group! LOL
Love it Susie. It is so cute and petite and I like the calyx partially covering the bloom.
If the fragrance is different, that would also be a plus.
So that's the one GRC said smelled like lemons? How small are the blooms and is the plant small also?
The plant is NOT petite, let me tell ya! The flowers are small and cute though. I will have to go out and smell it to see if it's different. It's hard to tell with so many brugs blooming in the gardens.
When Uwe and Beate was here the other afternoon I failed to cut any aurea cuttings for him. He overwinters them in a celar with neon lights and don`t haveroom for those with large leaves *lol* I have heard that citronella is a large leaf type too and also saw it in Preissels book. We had two seedlings here last year making 60-70 cm long thick aurea leaves on the trunks and I loved those and thought they looked impressive. When Monika told how big leaves Rosie have I have aquired that one too. Well, once I liked to plant long willow branches to form a shaded cabin in the garden. Now I won`t be hard to convince building one out of Rosie cuttings.
