I've never started a thread on UK agriculture on any forum, I always think people are pig sick of hearing about it but this has moved me. For those of you who have been watching the UK's various crises, I thought this might be of interest to you.
For those who have been sending thoughts and prayers many thanks, all farmers here have appreciated all the the help they can get, with this news agriculture in the UK will be non-existant in 50 years time. LOL and someone asked me yesterday why I want to leave England. The only hope is the support of our public and that of other countries. I entered into farming 12 years ago at the tender age of 16 and have seen the beginning of the end of agriculture as we know it in this country, I feel helpless and I can understand the sheer frustration of those who are still in the industry I want dearly to return to.
There are many in this country who have no sympathy for agriculture, they like to think we beat up animals and poison the nation, some of them will read this, if you are one of them please walk a mile in another mans shoes before you critisise. These people have no concept of what a working day is like let alone the years of dedication that we, all farmers across the world, have given not only to our own stock and crops but to the industry as a whole.
Sorry to vent in the morning :)
