Van Dykes has 50% off bulbs now

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I have ordered from them before and the bulbs are huge. Everything is guarenteed for 1 yr. Their specials are 50% off all bulbs and plants.

I ordered several lilies.

Oh, yikes. I'm not sure whether to thank you or holler at you. :)

I have to repeat something I said earlier this year when spring bulbs were going very cheap. These bulbs will be very stressed and dehydrated by now and arent worth the money. They are very likely to become a target for fungus once in the ground. you are only gonna save the seller who ordered way too many.

save you money and wait until next bulb season which is just around the corner

I feel that way too - about the condition of the bulbs. However, they have 100% guarentee. If the bulbs arrive and I'm not pleased or if I plant them and they die out - they will credit my acct - which is worth the chance. I can't lose. Either great bulbs (which have always been far larger than any other company I've tried) or credit in the Spring!!

They are an easy company to work with.

try it - I would not pay $100 worth of bulbs but $20 and find something that's usually VERY expensive for 1/2 off is fun to try.

My order arrived yesterday - the entire order is excellent! The lily bulbs are all huge and healthy. The foxtail lily is healthy, large, and lots of roots from the bulb. They are as good or better than most companies I've ordered from in peak ordering season! I would make your order today.

Eremurus are almost dormant again at this time of year. all thats left should be flowering stems with leaves almost died back.

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

My Eremurus are just blooming in zone 6.

I took a chance and placed an order too. Linda

I ordered but they are back ordered....

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I think you'll be pleased. I watered all today and they look good. One of the items I wanted was on back order too. It's a good company.

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

so how are you lilys and other bulbs doing? i'd love to here an update

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I got mine and they're in the ground......none showing yet

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

My lilys look great. They are all growing well. With all the rain and heat it's a tropical garden. The plants are sturdy and healthy.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9a)

I got some of these, too. Three out of four tiger lilies doing well. Two of the asiatics are up, still waiting for the rest (but one just popped up yesterday ...). Nothing yet on the Cala's, should there be? Nothing yet on the trumpet lilies.

Waiting patiently .... LOL! If more than half do well, I'll be satisfied. I don't expect too much from half price bulbs planted out of season.

I'll keep ya'll posted.

Everything is coming up and growing well except for the caladiums. I'm still waiting for them to pop up. Linda

Franklin, LA(Zone 9a)

So far I've got
2 out of 4 Callas (haven't given up hope on the other two!)
1 out of 2 trumpets (it came up yesterday)
3 out of 4 tiger lilies
8 out of 16 asiatic lilies

I'm thinking that maybe I should cut the buds off this year, since they were planted so late, so the energy will go to keeping the bulb healthy over winter? What do ya'll think?
