I've got a large (ish) ensete ventriculosum. I have a conservatory I can keep it in over winter but the ensete on my deck is about two foot taller than the conservatory already. What do I do?
Ensete - how do I over winter
Maybe it will flower before it is time to come in and you can save the seeds. I read that once they flower, they die. Hope this is the same plant. If not, just ignore this post. In any case, if it is two foot taller than your conservatory, sounds like you might have to cut a hole in the floor. LOL!!
Ensete ventricosum--The one that is known as a wild banana??
Wild banana probably? I know it doesn't fruit. It's mainly grown for a form of starch in Ethiopia. At the moment it looks like a banana except the mid rib is red,
I'll bet it is awesome to look at. Hope you get some help on what to do with it before it cracks a hole in the conservatory ceiling.
It's very pretty with no tatty leaves..hope someone can help.
Ros - with fingers crossed
