Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

It's going to be another hot day here in central MO. I need to get out and get some watering and weeding done quickly so I can stay in the AC house and wash dishes, clothes, etc during the heat of the day. I got one raised bed weeded and canna planted in it yesterday evening. Still have several dayliliy clumps we dug last week to replant.
Shad had his annual Boy Scout camp physical yesterday. New doctor again as the last one left the clinic just a few months after we saw him last year. Of course he is in excellent condition. This doctor is a former Scout and is a current cyclist and rider of the Katy Trail.
After his appointment, Shad and I stopped at the cafe' and planted some daylilies and daffodils and did a lot of watering. We worked for about 4 hours and were really tired. They fed us a good lunch and thanked us a lot. That's good enough for us. In a few weeks there should be blooms to show for the work, There is still a LOT of work to get done over there tho. Like mulching, more planting, watering, weeding in some raised beds, etc. But once we get it finished it will be low maintenance.
Mary, how are you today? I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Must kick myself out there and get some work done. GOD bless everyone.
