Rshadlow..do you think this Iris is the same as your Northward Ho?
I am trying to find the name of this one for my neighbour.
Cheers,

Hi Carol,

It looks like your neighbor's is a historic, Northward Ho was introduced in 1991. Do you know if your neighbor's plant reblooms in the fall?

Hi Robin,
I will ask her if it reblooms in the fall..does Northward Ho rebloom?
When you say "historic" do you mean that this could be an very old variety?

Northward Ho is a rebloomer, I haven't grown it long enough to know if it will rebloom in Nebraska.

Irises are considered historic after 40 years have past from the time they were introduced. The tend to have slightly smaller blossoms and more tailored form thatn more recent varieties. They are also usually extremely hardy plants, having stood the test of time.

Hope this helps,

Robin

Thanks Robin
