I have this unamed plant about a year now. It came to me in a most unexpected way.
Lush deep green foliage, large cream flowers, reflexed, long tendrils, great fragrance.
Opinions, please?
Would You Grow This Brug?
Alice Yes I would grow it. When will it be available? Is the flower really large or is it the picture? I luv the break in the color from the soft yellow/cream to white. The leaves look dark green--not light green like others. thank you for sharing.
Yes I would grow it also. Very pretty Alice! Nice long tendrils.
oh my yessssssssssssssssssssss---------how lovely. cheryl
I like it ,very nice striping,IMHO
Bob
It's a nice one. Please give it a name.
I think it's very pretty.
I think it's beautiful. You wrote, "It came to me in a most unexpected way." Where did it come from? I would love to have one.
"It came to me in a most unexpected way."
Yes ..
This brugmansia ia a 'reverted' Snowbank.
The flower is different from Snowbank. Larger and a different shape.
Still a tetraploid ..leaves are deep and rich because of 4 layers of green.
It started out less variegated than the regular Snowbank.
As I grew it out, it went totally to deep green.
Not variegated anymore ..but a very lovely brug (o:
I contacted TN about it. They suggested a name.
Any name ideas here?

If a plant is healthy, blooms well and I like it, I always find room for it. Other things may not meet those qualifications and I will keep them for sentimental reasons. Have you thought of any names that are spin offs of Snowbank?
Badseed ..
Dan suggested 'Greenbank'.
This one is better than kept for sentimental reasons.
I will get a better photo today and post sepatate.

Beautiful plant, but Greenbank is an ugly name! If you wanted to play off the Snowbank name, how about something with spring in the name, like Spring Green?
Melted Snow, hehehe
How about:
Unexpected Way
Luscious
Teardrop
Ooh, I just thought of another one, how about Snowbank's Spring? I like Melted Snow, too.
snow dust ridge...
so when they did tissure culture did something happen? or is it similar to a parent?
how about melted snow bank.
How about Snowmelt, Snowgone or Snowhere :) ?
Better than sentimental huh? That must be one special brug! :) Is there already a Snow White?
Hmmmm, how about Knabwons? Knabwo? Knab White?? LOL (all kinds of Snowbank backwards, since it went 'back'!
Abutilon, I would not keep it. It is a pretty flower but not the cream of the cream. This type of flower is seen in many crosses and soon, there will be many named look alikes.
It is my opinion.
Look into the BGI gallery under Carina and Florentina. At the moment, I have new seedlings starting to flower and all look like the two named. Some of them have very large flowers, up to 40cm long. I culled them. A few are doubles and I keep them until fall before I deceide to keep or not.
Keep it, it's a tetraploid KBS! Send it to meeee..LOL
How about Snow Drop,Snow Flake,...it would be great to keep that association in the name there! But I the snow's gone??? how about global warming...LOLOL
Down Bruno Down! Sorry Alice that's all I can do to try and control Bruno from over here in the US.
Yes, I also hope you keeps it. Like Bruno said, it is a tetaploid KBS. I find it a beauty in it self and even if it is true there are more hybrids looking like this type (haven`t seen some personally though) yours have the advantage of being N-4 and I don`t think there are many of them. I know more than just a few that would love it for hybridizing and to test other brugs for polyploidity as well. A thing I love is the long tendrils and the yellow ribbons running from the calyx down towards the tendrils. Maybe that is a suggestion for a name too ... I don`t know? "Yellow Ribbon"
"Display of a Yellow Ribbon is a sign of loyalty to family, friends or loved ones who are welcome home. Customarily it is used to welcome home men and women who have been away for a long time under adverse or particularly difficult circumstances "
There is also a song to be found here. Its a coming-home-song, for what its worth.
If it is possible Bruno and I would love one piece as we can always share it later :)

Alice, follow your thoughts. If you like it keep it.I agree with Monika but we are fare away:)
Alice, keep it and try making crosses with it. Doesn't have to have a name to do that.
"Spring Morning" I love the tendrils on it, and from what I can see of the green color, maybe this would green-up the foliage of Whiskers!
well heres a few names if you havent names it yet.
snow's whiskers
winter's tear
winter's sundrop
i would grow this by the way too. its beautiful
Spring's Snow
Sunlit Snow
Snowbird
(Now why didn't I think of that, LOL!)
I would definitely grow it. If not because it's beautiful, you said it had wonderful scent. That is what really got me hooked on brugs. I had two, and they smelled so wonderful!!! Now I gotta have lots. LOL If it smells good, it's a keeper, but then, I don't think I could throw a brug out no matter what happened or what it did.
Silly question, I would grow ANY brug I had...I am such a newby, just trying to learn the basics and would be so happy to have any of the brugs here.
I will be eternally grateful to Glory for sharing some of hers. Today (on my birthday) I found my first buds on 2 of the brugs she sent...I already have flowers on 2 of the datura..they are so pretty. Checking them out every morning on my days off is a wonderful way to start my day.
earthling I don't know what datura you have but you better dispose of the seedhead before they spread. I live in TX too and 3 times a year I fighting to keep the seedlings away. I even burned some in piles and I still having them coming up from the ashes.
Glory is reallly great about cuttings. I glad your having success.
laff...I have been pinching off the seed pods..I live east of Dallas..
Senorita Snow?
I like the name 'Snowbird' as it fits. Thanks JJ.
I will keep and grow this limited.
I will start another thread tomorrow for the reasons, etc.
Thanks everyone (o:
Alice
Snowbird!!!!...I love it!!!!
Go Bruno GO! I'm just as bored. At least you did something cool. I'm just sitting on my butt drinking coffee. It's to rainy to do anything outside today.
