Waiting for it to turn white?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

I LIKE YELLOW! Hope it never goes to white, that is really something!

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

That is an exciting moment :o Here`s crossing my fingers its not white. Has it altered color since you posted the last one?

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

I don't want it to turn white either, that's why I'm watching it, LOL.... Have yours ready to go out in the a.m. Hibiscus- if it doesn't turn white.
Tonny hasn't changed, it's still yellow and opening more. Everyone send yellow vibes my way.

Here is the link to the originial picture taken in the winter. http://davesgarden.com/t/378087/
Since then, found out it was maya and not P&C

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Here it is almost open! Still yellow. Is that a good sign? The edges are starting to flip/recurve? up as well.

Very pretty Kristi.

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

Kristi, did the colored vibes help? It would be wonderful to see a bit yellow, creame or white with peach flush in this one :)

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

Kristi I called Ms. Cleo at the phycic hotline n she said its gonna stay yellow n please send a cutting to me and she would levitate it to her house later. :) teasing---its lovely. cheryl

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ms. Cleo was right!!! She stayed yellow.... YEAH!! The GREAT thing about this plant. It grows HUGE, sends tons of suckers out, easy to root, and bugs seem to ignore it. Cherly, I have a cutting ready to go if you'd like one. I've actually been tossing all the suckers. I planted three out in the yard. They are over four feet tall already. I also have a pot of little side shoots that will be ready to go.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Kristi honey, you are turning into an awful tease like the rest of these brug heads! LOL You are sure showing off some pretty ones!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Are you going to name it? I like Lemon Meringue. Ronnas' idea!

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

If Maya is a variegated sport of KBS, is this maya reverted back to KBS, or is it new?

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

very pretty. now can i ask a question is it normal for a brug to go from yellow to white. did i miss something? i am new to this so please excuse my lack of knowledge. ewww throwing away them off ssoots. i am gonna cry. newbies like me live off others throw aways. lol

enjoy it. Imzadi

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

i love looking at all the pics. maybe i should show it to mine and it will do something. maybe with pics it will get the idea to bloom. love the pics. Imzadi

Another Beautiful Brug....does it have a name?

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

And the leaves, so dark and not a chewed one in sight! What are you feeding this beautiful thing?

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

Keep the pictures coming, Kristi. Its a beauty *lol*

Bruno, it is not necessarely reverted, but could be a gene combination different from both Maja and KBS and as such a new form. The KBS I grew didn`t have those mega large leaves and their texture was different.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

I know what you mean Tonny! KBS produced a Maya sport and it is a distinct cultivar....it is the cobinination of KBS and Variegation. Maya produced a green sport....it has the history of KBS, the Variegated Maya and now is an all green phenotype. It's history and genotype seperate it from KBS!

But...you could look at it this way...(LOL...I like confuseing people..LOL) KBS, Maya and Grazie are all still geneticly identical to KBS...so is this new green plant!

But like you said, it has a different appearance, and therefore can be selected and given a cultivar name by the grower!

(I think I think too much..LOL Tonny...I blame it on all those dru...i mean Brugs, you've been sending me.LOLOL)

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Okay Tonny, you asked for it *grin* Here is what it looks like this a.m. it's a peach color. I'm really happy it didn't turn white. The color vibes worked.
Glory, this doesn't have a name. It was a sport off my Maya. It does have many good traits. I'm waiting for a full flush to see if it should be named. Or to find out if it's KBS. I'm going to keep it, named or not. I like the look of the foliage and it's such a fast and easy grower.
Imzadi- I was tossing the shoots as I wasn't sure the color it would be. If I new it was so pretty, I'd have kept them.
Viola- I don't have to feed this plant anything. It's nature is to grow BIG in size and foliage. The only fertilizer that it has is osmocote.
Arlene is going to send me some pollen from KBS. Hopefully we'll be able to tell if this just revereted back to that form.

Gettin' prettier by the day. Think you have a "green thumb". Love it!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's prettier than my KBS!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Kristi . . it has gotten more beautiful.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

VERY PRETTY!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Very pretty Kristi! It has a nice full skirt. You are so lucky to get a sport. So exciting!

On another note, how can you stand the weather here? I have felt wet since I got here, even in air conditioning!!! It may be that I am just too old for changes. LOL. I do not remember my childhood being so hot and humid.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thanks kell. Yep, I agree it is HOT, HOT, HOT. I for one, don't mind it. My husband can't STAND it. I spend alot of time in the pool. I think it's hotter this year then it was last. How much longer are you here for?
I'm hoping your mom is doing okay.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

She is doing fine Kristi, thanks for asking. It will be so sad when I leave. We have finally gotten used to each other's ways, LOL, or rather she has me now trained. I am shocked I lived so long doing things so wrong! Though I keep telling her each time she discovers a new flaw in my behavior that it is all her fault for she must have brought me up incorrectly! And we laugh instead of killing each other!

My sister is coming for 10 days when I go, then I will return for another week or so when she goes. 60 years of marriage is long time!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Glad you and mom are getting along, must be you, moms won't change THEIR ways......You must be a well trained DD.
