My first brug pod!!

Miami, FL(Zone 10b)

After many tries cross-pollinating all my brugs, I found this pod growing on one of the larger plants. I almost cut it off since the plant had grown so much and I was ready to prune it all the way down. Luckily it is still there, growing... it is about 4" long, how much longer will it take? I can't wait to sow the seeds.

Woo Hoo! That's great Olga! I'd also like to know when the seed pod should be removed so I can be prepared for future pods. :-)

Most pods will mature in 3-6 months although I had a few that took longer. You will see a difference in the pod when it is ripe. The stem that holds it on the plant will turn yellow and the pod will wrinkle and feel softer.

it is shaped kind of like jean pasco pods...

This plant is a seedling I grew from seeds received in a trade. The flowers are white and the plant is a vigorous grower, even though not my favorite bloomer. The picture was taken after I decided to prune it quite a bit because it was overgrowing everything around, I hope the pod will be ok after all that.
