Maya ..So Many Blooms Right Now It Isn't Funny!!

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

This Maya 'tree' is just loaded with buds and blooms right now.
I just love this brug. Even the calexes and pods show striping.

Since Monika ..I now know my ground water is what brings good 'pink' to my blooms.
Even Maya shows some 'pink' since its water changed when it moved.
Neat! ((o:

what is your water ph?

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

that is great....and it being a heavy bloomer is just a little added bonus.

Hi Alice, mine is covered in blooms and showing a lovely peachy color too...so i dragged it to the front of the house so passers-by could see it! The branches are so wayed down with blooms, they nearly tip the ground! I'm begining to think the name 'Peaches and Cream' would have suited 'Maya' better..LOL

Maya was one of my best bloomers last year. I really love this brug. Strong, bugs didn't bother her, and the numbers of blooms was amazing on each flush. Besides all of that she sends out lots of nice shoots from the roots that can be rooted for friends.

So this one is a fast grower as well? I haven't tried her, but she sounds magnificent from your description.

Eric, Maya outgrows P&C by leaps and bounds. Also makes a great mother plant and produces lots of pollen. It is a must have for blooms especially for ones that live where there are short growing seasons like I do.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

and roots really easy in water.

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

sounds like super brug to me :)----please--someone--anyone remember me this fall with a cutting of Maya---how does it winter over--fair?????

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

The variegated plants need to be brought in in the fall.

FSH, TX

Snowhermit,
Do you know if any of the varigated forms will over winter in the Tx/San Antonio area?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Someone here in a warmer climate said they need to be brought in Eric. Maybe it was Barb.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Maya is a beautiful plant. I love it. Abutilon, does Maya have also striped pods? I never had any on Maya but on Grazie variegata. The pods of Grazie are striped.

note to self: Maya, Maya, Maya!!

Monika, I'm not Abutilon but the pods on my Maya are green. The flower buds however are striped.

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

Lovely flowers! I must have missed something in the book. Could you please explain what it is in your water that brings the pink out.

Biel, Switzerland(Zone 7a)

I love Maya, too!! It is always full of flowers, and does set lots of pods.Actually,Maya and Klerx var. are opening now or loaded with buds, but the others are slow to do anything except SWF.
Alice,do you have a lot of lime in your water?

Woodburn, OR(Zone 8a)

Is it a higher PH (more alkaline) which creates deeper color? I think that's what I read on another thread recently...

Dripping Springs, TX

Note to self--i need to get maya and no more rainwater--Dig a well!

Thank Alice I'm loving all the photos you've been posting.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

TiG ..
My water registers 8.5-9 ph.

Dripping Springs, TX
