It shouldn't be small Bug_girl, perhaps your plant is just getting going
That flower isn't as marked as Rebecca usually is either, there're normally streaks all over her face :)

I got it from annie's annual and she is a very reputable grower so it must be correct. I actually got it at sloat garden center and they carry annie's annauls. I don't understand why it does not like your photo. Can you post another one for contrast?

I did a web search and I found them looking all different ways some had yellow markings, but this one looks like mine. I am confused about how all these very different flowers are all called Rebecca.
As plants are propogated they often change subtly over time and different 'clones' develop which are all slightly different. So, although they have been truly bred, they may vary from the original.
I believe the example I posted is close to the original, with large sweetly scented flowers and lots of stripes.
The flowers scent, size and colouring can also vary with the maturity of the plant and the conditions of soil and climate that it is growing in.
You may find your plant changes as it becomes established. I really only commented as you said you were disappointed with the size of the flower, and all the Rebeccas i've seen have quite large flowers for a viola
The reason I think it is small is it much smaller then etins. You can't tell from the photo, but mine is only as big as penny orange, which I also added to the data base.
My Rebecca is every bit as large as Etain (Etain's my favourite :)
Yes, I think your photos looks the same size as etins and I think that is what it should be, hopefully, it will pick up with more sun later on, in the season. But, maybe mine is just made to be small like penny orange, which is still a nice plant.
