Spyware

western Piedmont, NC(Zone 7a)

Hi

I'm a new subscriber, so thought that I would share my many years of computer experience by passing along this tip.

Even though you know to be very very careful to authenticate email attachments before opening, you should be aware that spyware can infect your system merely by visiting some web sites.

Personally, and on my business systems, I run two programs each morning, both check for "bad" spyware cookies and registry entries, and then prompt for their removal.

The first is Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de/

the second is Spybot http://spybot.safer-networking.de/

both are free downloads.

But, be warned, if you have yet to run a spyware checking program on your system, you may "freak" when you view the results.
