Brugie, it's a bit slow to get started, but once it y's, watch out, it will bloom it's heart out!

I got mine as an Amarillo Paja, but it was evidently mismarked. I sent out cuttings to only Susie and tiG I think. Didn't have much to cut on since I wanted to hold it over and then it died on me. Luckily I had rooted a small one for myself.

does it resemble maya without variegation?

It didn't flower as well for me as Maya did and if I remember right, the apricot coloring wasn't as deep as with Maya, but I grew mine in nearly all day dappled shade. My blooms were not nearly as colorful as Cala's picture.

Good reason why people should be generous with their brugs, Brugie! You never know when yours will die and you need a replacement!

Kell, I've been worrying about it for a over a month already! I keep looking at all those pots and thinking "how in the world will they all fit?" I'm getting ready to list some of the left over rooted cuttings for trade so if I lose some hopefully I can get them back someday!
I think the plants will be okay, we are going to drive straight thru, only stopping at night(sorry folks, no visits along the way) and we usually make the trip in two days. I will water them good before I put them in the truck and they will be the first thing off the truck.

Make sure they do not touch the walls of the truck for if it is hot they could cook! Remember the stories of the illegals coming in last month and dying in the back of the trucks because the temp. goes so high!

Great idea to trade, have them send their trades to you in Texas! You know everything I have is yours for the asking. I am sure lots of people on here feel the same way!!!
You should have moved in October or later, girl!!!

We have to move during the summer because of school. I wish we could have moved back in March(or wait for fall). I will put blankets or quilts between the plants and the walls of the truck, hopefully that will work! Who cares if the tables are scratched, save the brugs!!!

Susie once again you have a beautiful brug. In regards to your moving--Do you think that spray stuff called cloud cover would help your plants during the move?

Kurpark Bad Salzschlirf is a creation of the late Mme Neu. Its original name was Grazie. When a branch of KBS mutated, I named it Grazie variegata to save the original name. Mme Neus daughter gave me her permission.
Its a heavy bloomer and one of the best brugmansias.

Cala, thanks for posting the picture. It enabled me to clear a question that I asked several times last year. Now I know *lol* Gommer send me a plant named "Aurea Orange", but it is identical with your plant, so I will change the tags on its offspring. It is in deed a beautiful flower and they will come many at the time in flushes and there is short time between them. What I love about using it in hybridizing is the thick, dark green and somewhat wind resistant leaves that it gives to the seedlings. Hofwil does the same sometimes.

I should think so, Arlene. The "aurae orange" has similar flowers here last summer. Ain`t it just smelling good?

Its probably KBS arlene. Amarillo Paja looks different.

Okay KBS growers, what does the foliage look like? Are the leaves sereated? Do they grow huge? How does this plant grow? Thanks- Kristi

Kristi, here is how it grows here. First, it is very slow going, but ones it takes off, it really grows well. Mine has downy/hairy leaves that aren't a deep green, more of a gray tint to them and they are just a tiny bit wavy on the edges. I have one that is about 2 and a half feet tall and no buds and one that is ten inches tall and has a bud. Obviously the smaller one came from the flowering region. I started it last year and kept the mother plant for this year, but she didn't make it. I'd say this is a medium grower. Worked well in a large pot on the deck. Doesn't get leggy or sprawl. Just a really nice plant.

Thank you Shirley! I don't think my sport is KBS. Mine has very serated leaves, not wavy. A dark green and isn't a slow grower. Plus it doesn't have any down or fuzz to the leaves. Here is a picture with some of the foliage. Just taken.

Kristi, your plant is KBS. If you have my book, page 5 and 74, its KBS.

Kristi, I noted that also when you posted it from indoors growing. Its the huge, insect resistant from your livingroom, right? KBS growing in Danish environment is a bit pubescent and have a leaf surface texture very different from yours. Its a learning experience for all of us, that if a plant have a mutated sport and the mutation again have a mutated sport, then the new mutation are likely to be different from the original plant that put out the first sport *lol* Hope I don`t confuse you :) That is a question I often asked myself and here is a clear answer to that ... maybe not the only one, but still an important one. The flowers have turned out very beautiful. Congratulations withyour new finding :D

Shirley, Brugs ARE confusing *lol* Here is my KBS (Gommer send it as aurea orange, so I used that name here last year). Here is a few pictures of the same plant under several different climatically conditions in Denmark.

First spring flush.

Second flush came somewhat later. The flower is still not optimal colored out, but it has become broader and the whiskers longer due to the heat.

Now, would you believe its the same plant producing such flowers? KBS cutting rooted in a daylit room, but without any sun.

Color starting to show pretty clear and the shape is a bit altered again.

The best color I got (which is not the same as that the color could not be more rich).
