The mother plant had all stuffed blooms but this one has dropped its skirts.
This is so weird, this is a cutting from the CDW from Hawaii
Kell, This is always one of my favorites. Yours is beautiful. Could be that the weather is a little cooler.
Kell, I noted the same about the cdw I got for Lene. It had large flowers that dropped the skirt when it was at the garden center, but all the flowers it got here the flowers is way smaller and the skirts stuffed into the flower. Mystical ... hmm .. mystical?
sighhhhhhhhh........
Oh, very nice bloom. I'd sure take that tree. What a beauty.
Very nice Kell! I sent your package yesterday by UPS.
Everyone I posted that here because it takes weeks for her to check her email..lol kell
wow kell, that is gorgeous!!! simply to die for!
Wow Kell! You need to put pink pollen on that!!!
Lovely and so pretty. Kell, mine drops completely in cool weather but when it gets hot, most all my second skirts stay stuffed inside the first. For me, it is the prettiest in late fall and early spring.
Kell, it's beautiful. Wonder if it's the same as "Hawaiian Double White"?
I have Hawaiian Dbl. White from Larry. He said it has the biggest drop between the two skirts of any he's ever seen.
Sure hope it blooms for me this summer!
I can't wait for that picture Gloria. I thought my Logees would be an extended lower skirt and it ended up looking much like this.
The owner of this huge brug told me a neighbor had it and brought it from Hawaii. He got a cutting and I think it was only like 4 years before this picture was taken last year. It grew that much! But ALL the flowers were stuffed. I prefer the extended look. You always want what you do not have!
I should put pollen on it but Susie once said to me when I was madly pollinating my double whites that if a double pink was going to come from that cross it would have come by now........... and that made sense to me!
Kell, I was probably wrong, lol, put pollen on those babies!! Put pink on every one of them(and let Tracey grow them out, she gets blooms in 4 months!)
