I finally just decided last night that I could not keep up the pace I was going at. Anyway, Shad missed Boy Scouts last night and Youth tonight. But I got some weeding and cooking done for once. It felt so good. I was feeling really badly about the way I was neglecting the stay at home family members and the homeplace to say nothing of the state of exhaustion I was in. I just have a doctor appointment at 2 tomorrow afternoon, then work Friday and the ride/campout on Saturday.
We got wonderful news about Jack's eye today. The surgery on his left eye was so successful that he tested at 20/25 in that eye!! The doctor had said he really hoped for 20/50 at the best. But the doctor said they won't even consider doing his right eye because of the risks presented with 40 years of brittle diabetes and the fact that he still has 20/60 vision in the right eye. Maybe in time they will and then he will have nearly perfect vision again. He will be fitted with glasses in a month or so.
The apple/rhubarb crisp I made is about done so I turned off the heat a bit ago and will let it finish cooking as the oven cools. It will be so good with some Cool Whip or maybe even real whipped or just plain cold cream in the morning. That's my idea of a really good breakfast to serve my family.
I finally took all the house plants outside last night. Not long after I went to bed it started raining so they got a nice watering from heaven. I had to treat several cases of mealy bugs on some of them and hopefully going outside will help keep them from returning. I want to throughly clean the plant room and wash it down in hopes of removing all of the mealy bugs.
I'm listening to TBN while I'm typing and just heard something absolutely fabulous. The 4 anchors from the shipwreck of Paul the Apostle at the Isle of Malta have been found and authenticated. The wood has rotted out, but the metal is there. They showed film clips of them. If anyone is interested and can get TBN, it will be repeated about 2 or 4 tomorrow afternoon.
I guess I need to go see if I can get the poultry locked up. Shad shot at a big raccoon last night and didn't kill it so it will possibly come back for another chance to get some fresh meat.
GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
Taking some time off o rest up
