I planted some Bandolier Bright Sunflower seeds last year and got the fantastic Burgandy flowers. The stalks are filled with flowers. I spent all mid-summer through fall giving away the lower flowers for arrangements. I've never seen a sunflower produce so many flowers on one plant. Some of the larger flowers were sun-kissed with yellow and looked similar to the Indian blanket kind. They reach about 8 feet tall here in Washington.

Have lots of Burgandy Sunflower Seeds for trade or SASE
I would love some of those seeds but not sure what I have to offer...........what are you looking for?
Oh wow,my favorite color! I'd love a few seeds for sase or trade...what are you looking for?
Jean
They are really nice. I love the reddish ones!
Do you think I could grow them in a pot?
If yes maybe we can trade :)

I would love some too. Please let me know what you are looking for and I'll see if I have it. My trade list is badly out of date and I need to get that fixed real soon. I know I have a lot of mixed morning glory seeds that I just finished taking off of my old vines. I know they are viable, because I'm growing some this year. I have lots of other seeds too, so please just let me know what you might want and I'll see what I have, or I can do SASE too.
you have mail!
Oh I forgot to mention that the stalks and leaf veins are a burgandy color too!
For those who are trading with me...just a note, in case you do not know this...Sunflowers will cross pollinate if you plant other colored sunflowers near them. Yellow next to burgandy can alter the seeds you harvest and change the color of your next years plants. So be sure to plant a few by themselves for more great Burgandy color plants from your seeds.
You can also rub the same color heads together to pollinate yourself.
I planted some Teddy Bear sunflowers this year and am going to experiment and see if I rub their heads with some of the burgandy one to see if I can get them to pollinate and produce a fluffy burgandy...have no idea if this will work..anyone every heard of that?
Enjoy..WaWild1
I never have grown anything from seed but have always wanted to. I would love 20-30 of these.I have nothing to trade but will do SASE if possible. Will send you email
I would love some, do you have a want-list?
Caren
If you have any left, I'd love to try some! My trade list is here: http://davesgarden.com/members/roshana/ Thanks.
Hi Everyone...I'm going to put a HOLD on the sunflower seeds for right now...need to re-group and make sure those that have made request as of this posting, get at least 20 seeds per pack. Once I know just how many trades I have left...I'll open this offer back up.
I know that 20 seeds may not sound like much to some of you, but once your's start to bloom, you'll have 100's of seeds to harvest for next spring....and you'll also have lots and lots of smaller flowers on each to cut for arrangements.
Thank you for understanding and watch this thread for the offer to open back up. WaWild1

Update to all who are getting seeds. Looks like the entire group of seeds from the original mailing have been lost in the mail because not one person received them. So, I mailed more out to the same people again. I'm so sad, because so far only 3 people have received them. Seeds arrived in Florida, North Dakota and Georgia. I have no idea why the rest are not getting them. I'm sorry for any inconvenience...I just don't know what else to do. I'm going to wait until Monday because of the holiday and if you have not received your seeds...PLEASE let me know via email and I'll send them again. Maybe I should send the whole group of mailers to someone who did received them and have them send them from their post office. Again, I just want to say I'm so very sorry this is happening. Patti
Sounds like a wonderful flower. Do you have any more to trade or SASE? Please ck my trade list. Thanks.
Hi Farmer...I do have more seeds. Since you've read what is happening with my mailings, I'm guessing you will take a chance..LOL I'd love a trade. but would rather you wait until you received the Sunflowers seeds before sending me anything. Email me you addy and I'll get them out Monday for you.
Patti, Things happen, its no big deal ! I am going on vacation Tues. But my DH will be here. Even HE can't kill a seed. lol!!
I would love to add some of your sunflower seeds to my wildflower garden if you can still do a SASE? If you can, please send me your addy and I'll get it right out. Thanks
Hi WaWild1, After you get everyone taken care of and if you have any seed left I would like to have some of them.
