Just to let everyone in the Central Texas area or those of you that maybe passing thru that the 9th Annual Pond Tour will take place on June 21 and 22 from 9am to 5pm. There will be ponds from 100 gallons to 40,000 gallons. It is a self paced tour. You can go to www.austinpond society.org for more info.

Thank you! I intend to go to one of these every year, so maybe this will be the magic year. There is also an active bog society, I think in Austin but surely in the general area. I am probably going to turn my small ponds into bogs this summer and fall, and might not have a pond at all for at least awhile. I can no longer handle the annual cleaning and maintenance of a pond in that location. This will be an excellent opportunity to get ideas for now and future.
