Double Oranges?

Dripping Springs, TX

OK since Barbara has reported on the trauma of the infamous HG I have decided to find another orange brug. Does anyone know of any close to HG--that doesn't act like such a diva?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Creamsickle.

Dripping Springs, TX

Gloria I thought creamsickle was more of a sherbert/cream color? Is it really orange? I bet it's really orange for you.... grin

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Sure beats me, I'll probably never find out if HG is orange or not???

Arlene said something about Creamsickle having genes from HG. Both came from Native Habitat. Sounds logical to me.

Dripping Springs, TX

Gloria Oh logic?! I think I've learned not to use/have any logic with brugs. I'm glad you still use/have yours. :o)

If you have the right permits you can order this one from AKA!

You would put that pic on, it is beautiful, would trade all 4 of the HG's I have, for one of those!

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

what kinna permit do you have to have??---* looks over her shoulder and gets out her print shop software* --can you ummm SHOW me what a permit looks like? lololol seriously can ppl in U.S. get permits to get seeds/brugs from retailers outside of the U.S.? seems too easy----or we would all be in Monkia land huh? :S

Dripping Springs, TX

Bruno that really hurt.. How could you show that to me! Now I want one!

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

LOL...Sorry guys..couldn't resist LOL...If it makes you feel any better, i don't have that one either...bit I WANT IT!!! It's such a neat shape!

Isn't there a few of our US members who have permits? You're best bet would be to ask them!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

But whoever orders them with the proper permits has to keep them quarantined for two years on their property.

Dripping Springs, TX

If they keep them can I come visit the brug at the prison?

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

That's right...As far as i know, one of the permits is an import permit an the other is a quarantine permit...which don't necessarily have to be obtained or owned by the same person!

The quarantine area is usually just a green house where the imported plants can be kept and grown in isolation from other plants for two years untill they are given the all clear! :o)

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

The permits are pretty easy to get, but be sure you follow all the steps or they will confiscate your brugs when they enter the country(read ALL the pages of stuff that comes in the packet) Contact your local USDA office for more information. In TN the permits are free, in some states they charge a small fee along with a small inspection fee.

Has anyone grown this salmon brug? How is it compared to HG?

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Hi Dennis...I believe this is a New hybrid which has just been made available to the public this season!

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

Dennis, mine has not arrived yet, but I am already in Brug heaven just thinking about growing it. It appears to have more versicolor than x candida shape and by the look at the photo that Bruno posted I think it will be a wonderful substitute or maybe even better.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Hibiscus, i was trying to say NH got the seeds from creamsickle from the garden HG in germany, pressiels place, not the actual HG double. sorry for being confusing. i had read that and can't swear its true.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Double Peach /Peach Double blooms deep as it matures.
A large flower and very nice. Pix in the brug database.

rural, WY(Zone 3a)

OK until we have proof this one is good, lets not get TOO excited!

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

...but then there are always the new pinks to get excited about! :o)))

Bruno, are you going to kill me? *lol* Well, its a comfort to fill the waiting time for Pink Perfection with the relief that at least we don`t have to re-invent any wheels here. I think of it as so perfect in it self, that I can`t figure out what to cross to when it arrive and bloom, but then again ... Lene will probably steal it away from me anyway for her personal crosses. She is rambeling about extending the wintergarden to 49 squaremeters, so we can work larger scale. I won`t object to that though as not all can be first years bloomers :(

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

LOL Tonny...I'll gladly send you all my Brugs to fill up all that space...I've decided to concentrate on growing plants in the Arborea group! Anything else, if you want it you can have it! It's a pity you didn't live nextdoor..LOL
