I believe I have this cactus and the first flower bloomed last night. The second flower bloomed tonight. I have a beautiful picture of it and would like to display it. How would I go about doing that?

I would also like to make sure that this is the correct plant. I had no idea that this plant made such a beautiful flower. Do they flower each year? I brought this plant back from Florida Last March and We live in Maine. It has been sitting on my back pourch.

Thank you for you insight.
Sincerely,

Hi, IslandJim! It's been suggested that your plant is actually C. hildmannianus subsp. uruguayanus: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/103189/index.html

Do you agree? I'll be happy to move your photo if you do.

Hello IslandJim,
The Cactus you have pictured here is Cereus hildmannianus subsp. uruguayanus
Located here in the PlantFiles:
http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/103189/index.html

Cereus hildmannianus and the subspecies are often and mistakenly lumped into Cereus peruvianus.
Cereus peruvianus has pinkish and smaller flowers than yours. It also has notched areoles, and yours don't.
Like this one in this link:

By the way, Cereus peruvianus is now known as Cereus repandus
And Most of the whitish flowers on this page http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/54386/index.html
are *Not* correctly identified.
