Did you grow that from seed? It is fruiting! How old is it?
It's a grafted variety. Kent, I think; maybe not. Maybe Tommy Adkins. It was 3-gallon when I bought it. I put it in the ground about 5 years ago. It has produced fruit reliabily, except this year when all mangos in southern Florida have been a bit shy. Fruit when ripe make a wonderful cobbler.
Wouldn't now about that. Haven't had a hangover in the last 53 years. And not because I quit drinking.
Jim, is it possible to grow mangoes from seed??? I live in NE Fla, 20 mls south of Jacksonville and I would dearly love to grow my own, but just don't know if a) it is possible in this area as we are prone to light frosts in winter, b) if it can be grown from seed or would I have to hunt down a nursery that might have a grafted tree. Your input would be greatly appreciated.
