Vic you have one of the lovliest ponds I have ever seen!! It looks so nice and tidy and clean. Did you say it is almost as deep as you are tall??

Sure is a nice pond! Do you keep koi?

Lovely! I love the rock work and the whole design concept.

Well you guys sure know how to make me feel good on a rainy rainy day! LOL...Yes, Michele, it's deep. You can see the plant shelf around the perimeter and that is about 12 inches down. If I sit on the plant shelf and stand up, it's about up to my waist, The further in I go, the deeper it gets. If I go to the center where the floating basket is, it's over my head as we were told to make the center part deeper for the koi which answers Branka's question. Zany, the design of the pond was DH and he laid the stone as well. I didn't take the full picture but to the right front is the bio-filter. I was thinking this morning, we should all take pictures of our filters for each other LOL...Ours is housed in a cedar box type affair and is mostly covered with ivy. Anyway, I was thinking I should take before and after pictures of cleaning the filter. Nice when clean and totally yucky when dirty. Thank you so much for the compliments. Wish I could take the credit. Dh came up with the idea, the design, and built it. I think I may have mixed a couple batches of mortar for the stone LOL...He also does all the vacuuming, skimming, etc. We take turns cleaning the filter but I usually do that. Ponds are fun! Thanks again for your kind words!

Awe Vic, but you are the woman behind the man! I have no doubt that you helped by just being there. :) You two are too cute together! I can only wish.....
Hey, I did mean to ask, what is the bottom of yours? Is it cement or mud or liner? I guess mine at the deepest part is between my waist and um bra. :) I don't venture that deep. LOL
Oh, my pump outlet blew a hole in the plastic in my veggie filter! LOL I am ripping it out today and putting in more of a creekbed/waterfall thing, with the filter in the top bed and plants along the way. Someone suggested the further the water travels, the cleaner it gets. So here goes me digging and moving all the plants AGAIN! :)

The entire water garden is lined with the heavy black rubber type stuff. How's that for a description LOL....Yep, been there, done that....Ponds are a bit of work but they are so worth it, huh? Have fun in yours LOL....love ya!

Now that is a very nice pond. Sure wish it was in my yard.

Well, I smell like fish, am covered in mud, but some rain and thunder sneaked up on me. Dag! I did get the lower pond filter part in and part of the run way for the creek bed. That part works great. Now gotta either run out for dirt, or add a top part. I am trying to decide. LOL You should see all the homeless plants I have to replant. I am actually running out of room. I hope you get here with shopping in mind Vic. I think I have some goodies for you. LOL

Vic that is really a nice looking pond. Love the rock work and the cap to sit on.

That is one gorgeous pond, just gotta love all the stone work. Is that a stream running alongside? And So deep, what a beauty!!! You guys are great planners and builders, that's one of the best I have ever seen and such a great setting.

That's the waterfall to the right. The water pumps from the pond up through the bio-filter and then drops four times in a waterfall back into the pond. Thank you for your kind words.
