Taro Bulb
In the picture the one that is cut in half, that is the top,the tapered end goes down,if you look at the top it will have rings, the tapered end is where it was broke away from the mother bulb, hope this helps.
Root
Thank-you. :-D. Can I ask another q? Are we supposed to cut them before planting, like a potato?
I do not cut them,I like to plant with an inch above soil, after it gets a few days sun cover with mulch, just the way I do it.
Thanks! I'll have to give it another go. Off to the supermarket!
plant the whole taro sideways. that is how u get lots of plants in one tuber. plant the tuber about 2-3" below the ground. sideways where some of the eyes facing up. i guess it does not really matter cause when the plant emerges. it seeks the light.
last year, i planted one taro tuber, by August i was able to divide one tuber into 8 plants and got 2 left for myself. the rest i shared with DG friends.
Thank you MaVieRose!
u're welcome Sue :)!
