Good morning everyone! EvaMae - I get exhausted reading your posts - please take care of yourself. I'm glad Jack's surgery went well.

I have the day off today and I'm by myself. I get so much more done when I'm by myself. Lisa and others - I'm glad you are getting your much needed rain. We have been blessed as we have been having steady rains this week. I was in the garden yesterday afternoon to try and plant some cucumbers but it started raining again. When the weather warms up, everything will grow fast.

DH has been working on an iron pile for years - keeps throwing scraps on the pile. He finally decided to get rid of that pile to make room for hay. We have a friend who owns a tree removal company so he came over and loaded one of his big dump trucks. We were pleasantly surpised to get a check for $400 for that pile and it sure feels good to be rid of that "eye sore".

Have any of you used CIDR sticks on cows to bring them into heat? We've had cows that aren't showing signs of heat and we used them. They seem to be working well. They are used with the GNRH hormone shot.

With the nice plentiful rains we've had, the mosquitos are out in full force with lots of West Nile talk and warnings. A dead bird was diagnosed with West Nile in Lincoln. I guess I need to get some good repellant.

Better go - need to get too many things done today as well as keeping an eye on the gomer bull and potential need-to-be-bred cows. Sure wish those cows would gather in spots so I could watch from the house. Everyone take care!
