Finally it is done *lol* I finished two nights ago and yesterday catapillars and foam cicads was already eating big holes in the top leaves, so I guess its squeezing time once again *lol*
Seedlings planted out
Here they are from a bumble bees perspective *lol* I spend the last week planting out and what was left of the Gommer Brugs from last year is planted, Larrys seedlings and Ludgers (Ludger I have also planted some seeds of the big bowl of CG x? seeds you gave me and they have nice, thick and some also hairy, serrated leaves:). Now I only have to plant Erics versicolor seedlings and Liz and Horticult7 `s sanguineas, then most of the planting work is done, until the plants from Kirchner-Abel arrive, then its off to work again :)
cant wait to see what happens at bloom time---------you have invested alot of sweat, determination and patience. I hope it pays off many times over. cheryl
Gee Tonny you did a fine job there. You and Lene will be in Brug Paradise when summer brings lots of blooms to your garden.
Wow Tonny! That is awesome! Think you have enough brugs?? LOL I can't wait to see them all blooming! Are the pink flowers Lupines? They are beautiful!
Well done Mate!
Tonny, they look great. I hope you get a lot of beauties. You look thin, you've not starting munching on the brugs yet? lol.
Gosh it's so orderly! How close together are those guys? Will it just make a big jungle where you can't tell the ends of one plant from the beginnings of another?
Well, it has already payed of by some of the leaf types. I love the thick, darkgreen hairy aurea-types and there is about 10 of those, but one or two with special flowers would be nice though :) There won`t be any doubles, but hopefully a few seedlings worth to work with on longer terms for that *lol*
Badseed, yes, its pink lupines. Do you also like them? If it is legal to send lupines seeds, please remind me later this summer, because they will have plenty of seeds :)
Arelne, you know from last year that I only eat round holes in the flowers and take them on biscuits *lol* I forgot my biscuits case this time *lol* Just kidding. Its the video camera that streaches the height of the pictures. Its worse when the zoom is used, especially if you ain`t no Arnold Schwartsnegger *lol* Lene look a bit wierd on those pictures too :)
Angie, in a couple of months I have to crawl to get in the middle of those *lol* There are 2 feet between the plants and three feet between the rows. Not even the tobacco plants gets so spoiled around here :)
tonny, your brug garden looks great. I cant wait to see what beauties you will have blooming in a month or so....
So Tonny, where can I buy your video camera......... I sure could use that stretch feature!
I love your brugs and I love your lupines! I have tried lupines here but they rot every time!
I definitly like the way you've put those pots in the ground. Here's hoping they take off like mad with a little help. I can only hope you get one or two worth while versicolors from that batch of seeds I sent you. If I can remember correctly, only one or two of the parents were white versicolors and of those one occassionally had light peach stripes. To be honest though Tonny, I'm much more interested in seeing those Charles Grimaldi seedlings bloom. I have a few Dr.D x Whiskers seedlings from our seedbank that I am hoping are not going to be too heavy on the versicolor side myself. Of course if I got a yellow versicolor type hybrid out of that cross I wouldn't be too upset. Most appear to be showing signs of having very hairy leaves, but its still to early to tell much. I definitly like your lupines as well. I'm experimenting with growing some coleus, columbine, poppies and a hodge podge of others for background scenery for my brugs as well. You can tell a lot of hard work went into your yard. I must say I am excited just waiting and hoping that you get a few winners to bloom this year myself. I think you will by the looks of things.
Tonny, you would share your lupines??? I would be overjoyed! They are gorgeous! I only tried twice from seed. The first ones came up, did well then disappeared. The second was the annual type called something sunrise. The second ones did bloom and had a heavenly scent. I keep meaning to try again.......It would be lovely to have some from you. :) Thank you.
My you've been busy. I can hardly wait to see the end product. Keep us updated with lots of photos!
Kristi
Tonny, you have done a great job. Please keep taking photos and posting them as they grow.
Tonny if you could only make that camera of yours take off ten years--you would be super rich---a camera that makes you skinnny and younger too?
Tony,
LOL, you should see what I'm calling a seedling! Your seedlings look like the Redwood forest compared to mine :)
What a wonderful job you've done. You must feel very satisfied right now and you should!
Just amazing to me...
Morph, I know what you mean, my seedlings look like miniatures compared to his!
Tonny, maybe you will get big muscles from digging all those brug holes! Your plants look great!
