Gleditsia triacanthos 'Sunburst' (thornless)
Hi Dave's Garden Members:
Just yesterday my S.O. (Significant Other)--Crow, planted two Honey Locust for me, on June 24, '05. I have read the member comments and will be on the look-out for a suckers' invasion. That is very good information to have as I was not informed about the same.
Now, mind you these are babies, about 10' tall, and have the most beautiful delicate leaves, and the color is most intriguing--light yellow green. The two small trees are thornless Gleditsia triacanthos 'Sunburst.'
As I know more and the "babies" grow, I will keep our members informed, just as the 4 comments from members illuminated me.

I have 0 suckers to date. Black honeylocust which grow in the wild here, sucker like CRAZY. If you cut down a black locust, it will literally send up hundreds of new babies all over it's root system. I doubt this honeylocust I have will give me trouble. I don't plan on cutting it for one thing. And also, I can mow them over in a second if it happens ;)

Thanks for the info on invasive suckers. And a good idea you have..."mow them over in a second" if it happens!! Just filed that one away.
Took some pictures of my two new Honey Locust babies today. As soon as developed I will scan,
and post. Be on the look-out. I am having a good.....good time with Dave's Garden web site. It is all there. As a novice I can find out what I need to know through this site.
