cucumbers

my husband does not listen to me and keeps picking my cucumbers to soon. will they ripen off the vine or am i s.o.l.? they are a white and lemon varieties.

I've never noticed them ripening off the vine. What they do is begin to shrivel up after a while.

I am growing some "lemon apple" cukes, maybe that is what you are growing? Round, and yellow? Those should be picked when they are lightly yellow, not bright yellow.

thanks shoe, i thought so. yes i believe they could be the same, my package just said lemon. he picked them white. my whites are still green. i guess i can sell them as green and whites lol. will need to test them tonight to see if they are acceptable. right now i am baking zucchini breads from last weeks non sales. i hope i make all the bakers mad so they buy my zuchs and i won't have to bake lol.
