Hi, everyone. Last year our pond was so nice. Thanks to last years trades..... Winter did a job on it for sure. My husband, uncovered everything, there is nothing left. It must have froze down the the very bottom. I am just sick. I wonder if anyone out there has Pond plants, for trade or SAP. If so please let me know. Thanks ahead. !!
Diana
Bad bad winter. Nothing left. !
so sorry to hear that Diana. I wish I had something but I don't have a pond anymore :(
Hope someone will come along
Oh! What a shame. Wish I was established so I could help you out! I really don't think I could stand the heartbreak of losing everything like that!
I know...but this winter really was bad.. I do not think that even hardy, means frozen in ice, for so long.. But the Sun is shining have to look at the good side..hehehehe....Thanks flowox, and Zanymuse, I am sure someone will have extras they might like to share or trade...hehehe....It might even be pretty to have it clear..I am going to put duck weed into it... we have it here, in the lake...so just bring some up and put it in the pond. See you...
Diana
Diana, I owe you anyway, can I send some American water willow and arrowhead plants?
Oh, Aimee, You do not owe me anything, really you do not...If you will send me some I will send you a check for the postage....We had some arrowhead before...and of course lost it...American water willow I do not know...but that would be fine to try. But I will send you postage...hehehe....what are friends for....thanks,
Diana
I don't have any pond plants to send, but here's a word of encouragement. I thought I had lost all but my lily due to the severewinter. DH set the pots of the presumed dead plants in the sun and kept them watered.........and they grew back again. Water Iris, Arrow Plant (forget the scientific name) and reed grass.
Will do! No postage, though.
I got STUFF....
I'm still not jumping in for those lilies...
High of 56 degrees....
but I have plants I can get at....
email me through Daves
Hi, this is Stephanie in South Carolina. I have way to many unnamed Yellow Water Lilies that I would be glad to send. We also have PennyWort, Four Leaf Clover....White Water Lily...and more.
This week was a bit sad...our PayPal account was broken
by an internet hacker from the Phillipines and we have been whipped out of all funds. That is over $2000.00 that were held in our Checking account that we had wanted to pay for the Well on our new property.
Thanks for everyone's patience!

Wantabe. I live in the same zone in Michigan. How deep is your pond?
In the winter I add a stock tank heater to the center of our pond and no problems. You can get them for $20.00 at TSC stores. My lilies etc survive the cold and freeze with the heater and no loss on the fish either. You might give it a try.
Several members of our pond club(www.backyardponderingsociety.com) use them.
We are in the Niles, South Bend Area
I was about to post the same info Annabelle. I live 22 miles ease of Columbus, Ohio and we had a really cold winter. I used the type of heater you described in both of our larger ponds (put all the plants from the smaller ponds in them) and everything was fine. One heater died during a really cold spell and even so the plants survived. Unfortunately, the fish and frog didn't make it.
If you don't use a heater, pur a large chunk of styrofoam on the surface of the water. This prevents ice from completely covering the pond and allows a hole for the gasses that form under ice in the winter (which is harmful to fish and frogs) to escape. My friend uses this method and her ponds are fine in the spring after a cold winter.
Oh my gosh.....look what this has done.. What a great thing to share. Our TSC has closed...but I think there is one in Adrain a not to far place....you are so great...maybe this will work....Thanks Annabelle, and lOcusblossom----just great. Diana
This is Stephanie again...just to let you know after a terrible two weeks of our credit cards and checking account and debit card being hacked as well as our PayPal account...
PayPal is the winner for reversing this charge and taking this person to prison. I am so proud of them. They sent me a few documents to fill out, get some signatures and they have been a blessing. Even tracking one of my Debit Card thiefs...when they did not have too. That card was not listed in my account anywhere.
The bank I have been with for 25 years is the BIG loser here...we will be leaving them as soon as this is over. They said they need 90 days to make a decision.
All other credit card companies and PayPal were just fantastic with reversing the transaction...and so far we are only out about $45.00 through them. That is not too bad.
If anyone wants some Unnamed Hardy Yellow Water Lily with large leaves, green with brown specks and a beautiful light yellow bloom that stands about 5 inches above the water (this plant is great) or Unnamed Hardy White....I would be glad to trade them for anything of $5.00 value. Just let me know. We love perennials, grasses, tropicals, reeds, bamboo.
