Snowbanks mailed

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

Ok, all the Snowbanks went out either Tuesday and Wednesday. Hope everyone gets theirs by Sat. so they don't have to sit in the PO over the weekend. Hope they arrive in good shape. And, most important, I hope that they're the real thing and you are not disppointed by the size of the plant.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Anna, the tag was real, so I think the plants will be too. You are such a doll to have done this!! many of us wouldn't have her for a while if it weren't for you.
thank you again so much!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Hope we are all happy and it is the real thing. If not, it's ok too, will love it because you took the time and love to buy them and send to us.

Thank you so much garden friend.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Anna, thanks for doing all of us such a big favor. It is the thought that counts and if for some reason it is not Snowbank, I am the one that made the decision to buy it . . you did not make me. You have told us all the circumstances of these plants and each of us made a choice, so stop worring about it. I feel like Tig that it is Snowbank because of the tag and it was so sweet of you to include us and to take the time to box all these and mail them out.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Well said BrugNanny. Thank you Anna!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Anna, I just received Snowbank and YES it is Snowbank. It is beautiful!!! I saw where the postage on the box was more than anticipated. I mailed you a check for $12 yesterday because I wanted to give you about 3.00 for your gas. Now you will only have an extra 2.00 for gas. Please let me know if you come up short and I will be glad to send you a little extra. Thank you so much again for all that you have done. I want to reciprocate in some way. Please let me know if there is anything that you might like and if I have it, it's yours. Frannie

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh I'm so excited!!! I knew it was when she showed that tag!!!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

tig . . you just might get yours today and if not, then very soon. You will be very happy with it and Anna included the tag with it.

FSH, TX

So, what is this Snowbanks?

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooo glad it is the real thing! The postage for most of them was more than I had anticipated, I think because I didn't want to knock off alot of dirt from the rootball. Those suckers really had a root system, and I didn't want them to wilt. Looks like they made it ok, glad those of you that have them like them. I thought they were nice sized plants for $4.99. (plus tax)

FSH, TX

Wow, you found these for only 4.99? Are there any more?

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU ANNA_Z. Mine arrived today in perfect shape and SOOOOO beautiful. My first variegated. I'm on my way to pot it up now, then I'll come back in and put away my groceries (must get priorities straight). Postage was more than estimated. Hope you don't come up short on gas, I'll gladly send more. You've got lots of favors out there waiting to be repaid.

Northern Piedmont, NC(Zone 7b)

Mine came today too Anna! It is beautiful! So healthy and with a huge rootball. You did a great job packing...not a leaf lost. Postage was a bit more than expected, which used up part of the gas money I sent (mailed Tuesday). I'll be glad to send more if you run short on gas.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Mine came today, too! Hooray for the postal system (for once!). All of these plants mailed Tuesday or Wednesday and arrived on Thursday! My check will go out tomorrow. My sister called me when it got there and oohed and aahed the whole time that she was unwrapping it. Not a broken leaf, and she said that it got even perkier once it was out of the box. Thank you, Anna!

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

This snowbanks must be something! Is there a picture of it here at DG or anywhwere else, for that matter? I want to see what you all are raving about....

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I haven't seen a picture of the flower yet. The leaves are shown above. The reason everyone wants it is because it's the first tetraploid.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Hoping mine will come today - Glad they are the real thing, but even if it wasn't, it is a beautiful plant!! Hope the snails & slugs don't like it! Thank you Anna.

Didn't Alice post a picture of Snowbank?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Here is one she took earlier this spring without blooms.

Alice has posted several pictures of Snowbank. All very nice.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

what is a tetraploid?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This is what the quick dictionary on line said: (having or being a chromosome number four times the monoploid number)

That means absolutely zero to me!!

FSH, TX

Basicly...tetraploid versions should not be able to breed with non tetraploid hybrids. Their dna so to speak is doubled by chemical means. Hence, one often finds new phenotypes between interspecies crosses as different combinations are now possible. From all accounts though, I'm not too sure this one is a complete conversion. If it is and a member has seedpods on hers then this leads to many questions. One being, are tetraploids brugs possible self fertile....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Well Eric, I'm going to try to cross mine back to itself this year, if it blooms, and see what happens. I'll be sure to cover the bloom so that nothing else can get to it. Will try to cross it with something else too. Just have to find out what will happen!! Thanks for your information.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Anna, i have your plants and money going out in the mail today. mine came thursday, it sure is pretty. thanks again.

anyone know if it takes less or more sun?

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

Mine arrived and I am thrilled. The check is in the mail. Thank you so much for your time and efforts! John

FSH, TX

Good to see you posting Arlene. I think you'll do just fine with this Brug as it appears to grow much faster from the pictures I've seen posted and you do so well with so many of the harder to work with hybrids.
