Bad Salschlirf or Tutu? Well, never mind the name *lol* Bought this one for Lene and cross my fingers for her making a few exceptional crosses. Well, I "borrowed" two flowers to cross to Dark Rosetta and L`Amour. The pollen hasn`t been cooled during the winter, but wouldn`t it be nice, if we all got to know, if pollen stored in the livingroom for almost a year still will be good as fresh?

It sure is pretty Tonny. I see that Lene has really caught the hybridizing bug!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Tony, that is lovely indeed! and yes, it will be interesting to see if the pollin that was stored at room temperature will work - be sure to let us know.

Its a beauty Tonny....

Do you not know the name of it really?

Heaven ; ), Denmark(Zone 7b)

No I don`t know for real, but remember that Monika said that usually those two names are sold as unnamed doubles in Germany and Denmark. That is the only info I have to stick to right now.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well name or not, it is just lovely!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Very pretty Tonny and I am glad that Lene shares your interest in brugs and pollination.

Kell, yes to heck with the name, just its beautiful *lol* We provide the hybridizing notes with detailed pictures of any named or unnamed that we use and soon our book will loook like any rose hybridizers papers *lol* Named rose x unknown seedling, another named x unknown seedling, unknown seedling x unknown seedling *lol* In fact that was some of the most fashinating stuff about the rose bible, all the unknown x known crosses :)

Frannie, I think that I am very lucky. Morgensonne, Hertzenb´¨ucke and CG have all buds and I can`t wait to see, what she puts on the DW :) So, did you cross any?

FSH, TX

Tonny,
I have to agree with you there. If we don't use or consider an unknown hybrid for breeding then why use wild hybrids for breeding. Me personally, if I see a member grow a seedling that far outstrips Georgia Peach or some other hybrid I am going to want to grow that hybrid myself to breed with regardless of whether the parents are known. Just think, Rothkirch and Ecuador pink are both great hybrids, but there parentage is unknown. Yes, we should all strive to keep accurate records, but I have seen some spectacular hybrids come out of crosses where someone has only known the mother or for that matter out of dumped seed trays that later popped up a miracle seedling.
