Insignis pink seed

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

I have extra IP seed if anyone wants some to try. These are
several different crosses and each packet will be marked as to parents. If you want these, send a small padded envelope
addressed to me and inside the envelope put a stick on label with your address and two stamps. You will get the same envelope back with your seed in it.
Reply here so I can keep track of the number of packets I need to reserve.

Hi JT Seeds arrived today, thank you. One packet is CDW X PB. What is CDW?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

You lucky duck! Candida double white x Pink Beauty?

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Liz is right.I had just a very few of that cross left after
planting mine and sending some to the BGI seed bank. Here is your chance to try for the elusive double pink!

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Nice, very nice, g2s. You're a good person.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I guess i better open that envelope from you JT!

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

There are some other good crosses in that envelope Tig.
I hope we can get people to grow most of these before the season is over.I would have given anything to get my hands on some of these three years ago.Now the BGI seed bank is full of great crosses from all over the country.I am growing some of Tigs, some of Eclipse's,some from the far north and some from the Florida swap that I don't even want to know where they came from!
I now know why Eric culled so heavily. You just can't grow them all.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

well, I am trying!! LOL!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Me too! Thanks so much, JT.

Gilmer, TX

JT, I received mine. Thanks so much. Hope I have as good luck with these as I did the Eventide x Tequila Sunrise crosses. Will start them exactly the same way today. Hope to get the digital up and running so can post my efforts.

The brug seeds arrived: [Insignis Pink x Isabella] and [Pink Beauty x Dr D] Thank you so much. I will start them as soon as I can. Is it too late to expect blossoms this year?

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I feel so SPECIAL. Candida double white is lovely, and crossed with Pink beauty, what are the odds of a double pink? I'll keep everything labled and recorded. Thank you JT.

I have so many seedlings going, most of them 4-5 months old (no blooms yet). I have a small greenhouse that I usually don't try to heat (my electric bill is bad enough already). Does anyone have good information on over-wintering inside? (I know, summer is not really here yet and I'm worrying about winter) I don't have lots of bright windows. I do have a lighting system for starting seeds and seedlings.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Linda, did you get monika's book? you can let them go dormant and they will catch up much quicker in the spring, and it's tons less trouble.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Padre,I expect blooms this year from seed planted now but
my growing season is so much longer. If you have a heated gh expect blooms this year.
Linda, your growing conditions should be just like mine. You should be able to have the brugs outside until sometime in November.I use a small propane heater to keep my greenhouse above the frost level.Your gh should stay about 10 degrees warmer than outside with no heat.My gh is 16 x 32 and is one big air leak. The little propane heater keeps it toasty.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Yes, I have Monica's book. Good information, but I haven't spent enough time reading.

I was under the impression that the book had been translated, not that the book was still in German and the translation was separate. It's kind of hard to match things up.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

JT, you have sure been busy. looks like some great crosses.
tig, some of mine i overwintered aren't doing that great. for example whiskers, it's 7 feet tall on the old part but has a new shoot that's about 5 feet or so. the old part isn't growing that fast. butterfly is a beauty though, had a pretty good flush and she is loaded up now. i have two fat and sassy seeds pods on her, won't be long now.
has anyone ever put versicolor orange on butterfly?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

everything I let go dormant is loaded with buds, those I kept under lights is doing real well, but not as fast. well, except for Pink Beauty, she's right in front of the living room window and will bloom next week. I'm hoping the pollen I just set on Golden Lady takes, would be nice to have seed pods ready by the end of summer.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

It's the reverse for me tiG. The GH brugs are all ready to bloom and the dormant ones are slower. I wonder why the difference?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I just read your post and wondered the same thing. I have no idea! LOL! I'm just glad something is in bud/bloom

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

LOL, me too, it was a long winter.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Yeah Arlene, like everything else,I over did it with the pollination brush last fall.Pods are still maturing and new ones are being started.I wanted to try all the crosses but there is no way to do that.Just not enough hours in the day.I have about 300 seedlings now. That's all for me until next spring.

JT,
WOW...that's a lot of seedlings but I'm sure you will get some interesting flower.
