The skirts didn't come down this far on the first few flowers. This second flush is really pretty and the flower is huge. She's just starting to turn orange tonight.I sure hope future flowers will be like this one.
Creamsickle dropped her skirt.
heavens, she's stunning!
Beautiful, Terry, no wonder everyone wants a start of it!
Glad to see you getting some blooms, wish I was!
Terry . . she is a beauty!
Please give us another pic when she gets more orange. It is a beauty!
FANTASTIC BLOOM!!!!!!!!!!
very lovely Snow :)!
really pretty. So are all the creamsickles around all originally from NH?
I think so. I haven't seen anyone else selling it.
Beautiful! Hope my plant will flower this year.
Monika, I am glad you have one. For me it bloomed early and constantly. It's so humid here that it isn't one of my favorites.
Snow, i think it'll do really well for you.
Ms. Kell, i sent out at least 12 starts to DG members last year, maybe more, from the one CC and i split from NH.
arlene, you sent me one and it's growing very nicely! thank you so much!!
It is so neat to see doubles! Are there any triples out yet? Gorgeous flower!
Arlene, I really love this one. The flowers are so big for a double.Yes, this was one of your cuttings. I think we all have something in our gardens with your name on it due to your generousity.Thank you.
Snow, it was one of those plants that didn't quit suckering. I was glad to be able to share them with so many.
I'm hoping mine will start throwing off some shoots. I'm sure it will once it gets planted outside.
It's beautiful! Please put me on the list for a sucker. This is high on my wish list!
Mine has Y'd and I'm waiting anxiously for the first bud to pop. Beautiful flower.
Arlene, Creamsickle sure enjoys the warm Floria climate more than mine but I will let you know, if she does LOL!
Arlene and Terry, do you grow her in full sun? That is where mine is now and I'm wondering if I need to dig her up and move her to a place where she will get afternoon shade.
Shirley, From the blooms I've had on her so far I think I would put it in afternoon shade. We had a couple of real hot days when it had it's first flowers and I noticed that the inner skirt turned brown when it was sunny and hot in the GH. Not sure if it was the heat or the sun that did it though. This flower is staying perfect and the GH has been on the cool side and weather has been cloudy.
Arlene would know how it does in hot weather.Must be a reason she said it's not one of her favorites.
This one is fantastic. I would love to get on someone's list for a cutting.
Hello, Snowhermit, and other Brugmaniacs!
That is a beautiful bloom! I am new to DG, and don't know how folks work together and share plants. I am in zone 7 with a small greenhouse, and would like to add some tropicals for pot culture on the deck during the summer. I have a few abutilons, and would like to get some brugmansias. Sure could start with this lovely flower! Do the members exchange or otherwise share plant material? Do you have commercial sources you can recommend? Thanks for any help you can offer. Jordie
pdkrones, I'm hoping my CS will start growing bigger with shoots once I get it outside so I can share cuttings although the very first one is promised. Right now there is nothing I can take off of it.This time of year is a bad time for me and several others here that had their plants go dormant for the winter as they were trimmed in the fall before bringing in and cuttings given away. They are now just starting to grow and bloom.
We trade cuttings but also when there are extra they are offered here to the members.Come fall I'm sure there will be many offered.
If you want a Creamsickle soon and no one here has a cutting Native Habitat is the only one I can think of that sells it.
gorgeous!!
Snowhermit - I lost track of this thread for a few days. Thanks for the information. If I haven't gotten a creamsickle by fall, I'ask again! Meanwhile, thanks to everyone for this open forum on brugmansias. I learn by reading. Peter
Welcome Peter! Hope you get some good brugs sooon! And then share some pictures!
Peter---I was bombed with cuttings last winter and seeds too----hang around, Ill have some *knock on wood* this fall,----if un named---and seed cross cuttings fit your bill.:) I have the organizational skills of a four year old so I didnt do too good with keeping up with what is what. cheryl
Thanks for the encouragement, folks. Playsndirt, I'll challenge my organizational skills also; and try to get in touch later this year. I will probably get some seed or a plant or two commrcially as well - that's the way it is with this plant addict - but I truly appreciate the offers. Peter
Arlene, you sent me one and it is blooming now.Huhe flowers but no dropped skirt as yet.I will post a picture later.
JT, The first few flowers on mine didn't have a dropped skirt. It came even with the outer skirt. The second flush really dropped.
That's good news.I am still waiting for some orange color. The blooms are the largest of any of my doubles.
Snow she's lovely! Thanks for the photo
Native Habitat, here I come.... I don't think I can wait for fall, what can I say, I'm in love with this one!
