A rare find.....

We grew a bench full of heliotropes this spring..I was looking over them a few days ago and guess what I found??You guessed it a variegated marine heliotrope kinda rare I would guess. I will try to grow it out this summer and try to re-produce it later.

Kyle - either you have a knack for growing these types of goodies... or you have an eye for picking them out. If I saw that one in my seedlings I'd probably think it was sick and cull it out! Keep us updated. I wonder if the flowers will be dark like Marine's. Sounds like an awesome combination!

Eclipse, is this a 1st for heliotrope? I know I've never seen one! To cool. Hope it keeps it up for you !

It's beautiful, Kyle! If the flowers are as dark as they usually are, it will really pop!

Don't know if this is a first for heliotropes..but I have never seen one before.Bet Terra Nova would love it if it stays variegated. ;-)

very unique! i like!

Very good looking. Looks like it might keep the variegation.

Thats way cool looking.......

I kill every heliotrope I buy.........how do you keep them alive???

CC by not over watering them. They are real sensitive to too much water.

:-)

I discovered one last year in a crop of seed heliotrope I grew. Heliotrope 'Mini Marine'. It was very pretty when young. I thought I had hit a goldmine since all my research into variegated heliotrope produced nothing. As it grew out, the variegation became less showy, more green. I hope yours works out better for you.
