I was in B&Q today looking for clay pots. why do they never order them in in quantity? recently I bought ten from my local one and cleared them out and bought 14 today from N Ireland newest super B&Q and cleared them out too.
anyway, they have this new coir compost which is compressed into very small blocks about the size of a house brick and 4 per pack. add 2.5 litres of water to a block, in a bucket, and in 5 minutes you get 10 litres of compost. it is the easiest way to carry home 40 litres of compost.

I'm only adding it to my topsoil and grit mix for my Pelargoniums. Which? or else Gardeners World have a survey of composts this month but then it could have been months ago. you know how is it when months just blend into each other! LOL :-)
Yes I saw that, it was fairly recent but I couldn't tell you which issue ;)
The peat free that I use came out top of those :)
