Yippee! Thanks KEWL ANGEL!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

A very sweet angel here at DG sent me a gift for my pond. (Name withheld at the Angels request) There is a hardy white water lilly, pikerill weed and a verigated leaved water iris! I followed instructions (rare for me) and potted them up, added rocks on top and placed them in the pond on the shelves and will lower the lily as it grows new leaves (told ya I was trying to follow directions :~)

It hardly muddied the water at all putting them in!

THANKS ANGEL!

Zany, great job. just one note, you need to have water above that lily, don't let the leaves dry out. Looks like maybe to the top of the pot for now? and it won't take long for the leaf stems to lengthen either, they are great adapting plants.
you have a wonderful angel.

The leaves are under water by about 3 inches right now. Should I lower it now or wait til they hit the surface? I can drop it slowly or just put it on the bottom (about 30 inches}

oh!! I tried to tell above:) you can put it down where the leaves are several inches below water, tomorrow they will reach the top. then a couple of days later lower it again. I wouldn't put it in the bottom with them this short.

Thanks for the feed back tiG. The Angel who sent them told me to go ahead and drop them to about 4 inches from the bottom since the pond is only about 30 inches deep. So I did that.

I didn't have any pots that had no holes in the bottom so I used regular pots and lined them on the bottom with coffee filters to keep the soil in place then the rocks on top. I was amazed at ho little it muddied the water when I gently lowered them in.

you'll be shocked at how fast those leaves reach the top. now we will sit back and wait for blooms!!
lots of people do that to their pots, and have no trouble.
